I liked Smash Mouth and Barenaked Ladies for a hot minute until around 97/98 when I got into The Offspring and Green Day, the rest is history

All of those pop artists have better lyrics on their songs than the last few blink songs as well. And melodies. And production.

 

that is also me. i had Smash Mouth's Astro Lounge album (because All Star was obviously the best song ever) and Barenaked Ladies Stunt album too. And then I got Offspring's Americana and Dookie by Green Day. Man, I wish I had a list of all of the CDs I've ever owned categorized by purchased first to last so I could see my musical evolution.

 

I'm so bummed I didn't see HD when she was touring on her Metamorphosis record! I've seen T-Sweezy and CRJ twice each though, so that's fun!

 

I've been on a big Everclear kick lately. I wish they had "The Swing" from Scream 2 Soundtrack on Spotify

 

barenaked ladies are still the shit.

 

I love that song. So great. They have a lot of good b-side/compilation tracks. "Local God"!

Have you listened to their album Invisible Stars? it's new-ish, but surprisingly really good. their best album since the Songs From An American Movie albums.

I think Sparkle and Fade is my favorite album of their though, with So Much For The Afterglow being in close second.

 

I also liked Eve 6 around that time

oh yeah, i was definitely super into that first Eve 6 album too. I've recently gotten back into them and their whole discography. Horrorscope is SO GOOD! Their latest album though, not so good.

 

You know times are changing when a new blink song drops and everyone just glosses over it and moves to a pop music discussion.

Damn. Just when I thought I had everything in common with @bradsonemanband , you come up with the Scream 2 soundtrack? We'd have all been best friends in HS and probably in a band.

 

It feels so weird to not enjoy music from a band I loved so passionately. I'm only 20 and I already feel too old for what they've been putting out lately.

New song is the best by far of the Deluxe ones. Only bit I'm not so hot in is Skiba with his little "Wildfireeee" bit, brings the song down for me.

 

Meh. I don't know if I really like this one.

 

Local God is awesome! I've never checked out IS, I'm about to give it a listen on Spotify. Lol my favorite are switched around with S&F being close second

Song is okay aside from the "Living for the paycheck/dying for the weekend/take another xanax/cheating on your girlfriend" verse. Basically all of the overused cringy pop punk topics covered in ten seconds. On the bright side, five new songs next week!

 

The lyrics don't bother me, but I can't believe they used the same exact intro riff as Bored to Death. So lazy to me.

But it is nice to hear Skiba doing more than just power chords.
