  1. back in the day, when i was in junior, one of my brothers (who is 3 years younger than me) made our parents by him the Eiffel 65 album. you know that song "I'm blue da ba de da ba di" song??? and I was like "No man! Listen to this Blink 182 album" and he ended up loving it and after that he started listening to all of those old 90s/early 2000s punk rock bands, drive thru record stuff, etc. #bigbrotherwin - I literally saved a life. :-) haha just kidding. but yeah, it's ok to show people other bands to try to sway them away from shitty stuff, but if they don't connect with it, then that's a whole other thing. they should listen to whatever they connect with on a personal level.

Dude i still have that cd-single somewhere.

But yes, absolutely this. My English is OK, but sometimes not being a native speaker makes it harder to get my point across

From what Dan said it seemed like they were all going through personal issues at the time.

  6. My girlfriend liked the Trio back in high school, but when we met a few years ago she got this new found love for them again. I felt proud. She actually got me to dig into Saves The Day last year and I love her everyday for that.

  7. Yes yes. He said between the 3 of them it was such a boring record to play on the past live run.

I would argue their personas, the overwhelming foul live show, grotesque joke songs were anything BUT safe. If anything they were a little calculatedly un-safe. But no one wants to hear that from 40-year-olds, so it's fine that they've moved away from it.

Trying to look at the positives here so isn't it great that the last few songs blink released didn't have an nanans or whoas?

Yeah, not sure how parents would react nowadays if 5SOS or ATL wrote about fucking dogs, grandpas, all they stuff they've said and done in videos and interviews. Granted, they didn't have shock value as Marilyn Manson in the 90's or Metal in the 80's, but they were crazy (funny) motherfuckers and that why people loved them. Rewatching the urethra chronicles I and II are greats reminders of why this band was/is so special. To me, blink was and always will be more than just music to me.

Edit: post is all over the place. I'm on third cup of coffee and second bowl

Oh mannn, this was like the biggest hit for months here back in the day. This and Bombfunk MC's used to hype me the hell up!

Yep, I actually like his production for the most part but the guitars sound absolutely fried. It seems to be more of a thing you would do in pop music or electronic music where if there is any guitar in the mix, you kind of scoop out the low end to avoid competing with the bass, but for distorted rock music, it just sounds like they are crunchy instead of powerful. It actually kind of hurts my ears in certain spots (the chorus of "San Diego" for one).

Go back and listen to "Anthem Part 2" for comparison. Sounds huge but clean at the same time. And the production as a whole holds up, as well.

  14. yeah, i was definitely not into any of that music. from 1997 on, i was strictly into alternative radio stuff like Everclear and punk rock music. haha.

Here's the real question: Is "Dumpweed" a misogynistic song?

    I'M KIDDING.

I had all these weird musical phases when i was younger. Went from Boney M to Eminem, Eminem to Backstreetboys/Westlife etc, and ended up with the punkrawk!
