those first couple of seconds sound like an intro to an imogen heap song

i love this and it's all im going to listen to for the rest of the day

 

i cant get over just how sharp this song sounds. its got little bits of that glitchiness that the Hotelier utilized in Goodness yknow? I'm guessing they go more into the electronic stuff on the deep cuts and this is just a "heres kinda the direction we're going mixed with our tried and true formula" and i love it. Plus that solo is wild, are there any other National songs with a solo like that? That feels like something new for them.

I also really like the color themes the album arts have had. Sad Songs=various colors Alligator=green Boxer=yellow =HV=purple TWFM=white/gray and now this ones blue. Probably doesnt mean anything but just something i noticed.

Drew mentioned ETID and National on twitter so that's what I'm listening to now and I gotta say it feels right

 

This was an interesting read, I'm all for the guitar solos and an epic title/closing track. This sounds like the tour to catch them on!

 

Listened a second time to the new song and already like it more than I did this morning. The guitar is really cool.

 

After a listening to the single a few times this has officially become my most anticipated album of 2017.

 

The National – their 10 best songs - NME

dont know if i necessarily agree with this, but an interesting list nonetheless. Not sure what mine would be although Im pretty confident in saying Conversation 16 is my favorite song of theirs. I could see the new song charting high within my own personal favorites.

 

Only having one song off Trouble Will Find Me (and not even one of its best) makes the list automatically dumb. Also def needs more Conversation 16 and Lucky You. But I'll give them that choosing top ten national songs is really hard.
