Let's hold our breath until we disappear

That's a bummer! I was hoping for either AFI or Dreamcar.

So Against Me! and AFI are out but The Maine, Story of the Year, and Sum 41 are possibilities.

I think the Front Bottoms, the Jesus and Mary Chain, The Maine, Every Time I Die, Sorority Noise, Slingshot Dakota, Sum 41, Charly Bliss and PVRIS are all high possibilities.

Some wildcards that I'm hoping for are Bleachers, The Academy Is performing Santi, letlive. farewell show, and All Get Out (some more likely than others).

I wouldn't be surprised to see From First To Last w/ Sonny show up either.

I'm curious to see which bands playing Piqniq next weekend get announced.

I'm going to Sorority Noise's show tomorrow night and its presented by Riot Fest so I would be shocked if they weren't added. I didn't know festivals promoted shows of bands that weren't playing their fest.

When is everyone expecting the next wave to be announced? Seems like it might be the week of the 22nd based on the recent discussions. Veers a little off from the usual "one month out from the first wave" bit but would make sense given some of the shows happening, that other festival, etc.

Yea I'm going too! Should be fun, but Riot Fest does sponsor all sorts of shows throughout the year, whether or not the bands in question are playing the Fest. It's pretty much just any band that falls under the umbrella of the types of bands that play Riot Fest. But obviously it does increase the chance a little.

I'm assuming that week as well. Fest is making their next announcement on May 24 so I'd expect it right before that

Makes sense. I was assuming it would be coming next week given all of the tour announcements that happened relatively early this week... But it turned out? Most of those announcement crossed bands off as possibilities, rather than making them a possibility!

I'm expecting the second wave to have more bands for the younger folks, but I'll be happy if they throw on another band or two that I want to see per day. And I'm really curious to see what the last two albums are.

Yea me too. I feel like it makes a ton of sense for Sum 41 to play. Bleachers I'm guessing has their own fall tour plans, so I don't think so, but they did play Denver either last year or in '15. I'd say JEW, the 1975, Highly Suspect, Warpoint are all out. I could see Stabbing Westward, Joywave, and/or Lucky Boys Confusion getting added. It'll be interesting for sure.

So next week maybe for next wave?

Probably! People are referencing the fact that some bands may be playing that radio festival there this upcoming weekend as rationale for that... And if they plan on holding true to "next month" as they said when they first announced the line-up, that's pretty much the time to do it!

(Unless it winds up being this week, but I'd put my money on next week all things considered.)

Next week makes a lot of sense. Only thing that makes me skeptical about next week is the potential of waiting till after Bled Fest to announce, but I don't think it's a big deal to announce before, since it's not even that close and the bands playing bled fest are mostly small announcements / draw anyways (outside of possibly The Maine).

The Maine aren't playing bled fest, but yea I don't think Bled Fest will hold it up, because even if there's overlap, like you said, it's not really close enough and the bands aren't big enough to hold back the announcement for.
