I hate this thread

 

I wasn't trying to be condescending. I certainly see how someone enjoys Daisy more, or any of the albums more than others. I'll just stop my point. So uh, Manchester Orchestra? Is there a release date for the album?

Virgin > METN > You Brainstorm > Simple Math > Cope, for me. Objectively speaking, Virgin is the better album. (This is poking fun at myself.)

 

have any of you listened to nobody sings anymore? i love that album

 

Are you serious? "Lol" at suggesting YFW and Deja are anywhere close to SM.

 

Simple Math is a crappy record

Is there a record from a genre that isn't rock that has that same element to you?

 

The last 3 Brand New records hold so much sentimental weight and I could gush about them for hours on end and how important they are.

But Your Favorite Weapon is the worst record between the two bands.


With that being said, I love MO and while they don't hold a candle to Brand New (for me), I'm Like A Virgin Losing A Child is a fuckin' masterpiece and resides up there with Deja and Daisy. I like the other records, albeit a tiny bit less. I overplayed METN so much that, unfortunately, I cannot properly start the album with the first three songs or else I'll get bored. I'm still very upset at past me.

 

lol probably not I'm not really sure why I phrased it that way lol, the Chopin b minor sonata comes really close as a complete work that has had a long term effect on me but it's a different thing.

 

Brand New has been and probably always will be my favorite band of all-time, but MO has been second for a really, really long time. And if I'm speaking honestly, MO has not only been way more consistent than Brand New, but they also have the bonus of also creating two great Bad Books records and Andy creating the RAGC trilogy. Both bands are also my two favorite live acts to see.

 

This thread turned into the cringe like after someone yells 'Jesse Lacey!!!', while Andy is tuning/talking on stage.

Which happens, all the time.

 

Let's talk about this good album instead of a bunch of bad ones

 

You can't discredit TDAG for it's lyrics and then call Nobody Sings a good album.
