In 2009 my roommates and I ditched cable to save money, between the four of us we had SO many DVDs (shout out to that old Blockbuster bargain bin) so we exclusively watched movies/played video games for a while. One day I was stoned at home alone and randomly picked Kids lol, having never heard of it and having no synopsis to read since it was a Blockbuster box. Did not realize I was stepping on a landmine. Went down as one of my darkest days man

KIDS will make you filthy after you watch. The fact that the movie begins and ends with r*pe scenes is crazy in and of itself, but the implications of it are just as horrific.

I'm always down for more Eli Roth, for better or worse. Love that he's following through on the Grindhouse trailer though!

  11. Ehhhh... I want it to be good, but I don't love Eli Roth and wish they kept the Grindhouse look for it.

Wait why didn't anyone tell me Black Xmas 2019 is a feminist manifesto just like my bb the original but more overt? OG Jess is one of my fave movie characters of all time and she walked so this movie could SPRINT

Imogen Poots is also like the most beautiful person I died when I saw her I love her and didn't know she was in it

  14. I think this thread appropriately lowered my expectations for Pet Semetary Bloodlines, because I didn't hate it?? It wasn't good, per se -- some lazy writing and wonky performances -- but also, I love seeing Native actors on screen, David Duchovny was great, and there were a lot of interesting themes. It could have been a lot worse!

  15. started showing my friends Doctor Sleep director's cut finally. halfway through I asked them if we should have an intermission or continue next time and they opted for the latter haha. they seem to be handling it well, though, describing it as "not scary, but intense." I said "uhh trigger warning" before baseball kid's scene and they all immediately left the room to get more snacks haha. I of course absolutely love this movie, and I love that I'm getting to share it with them now.

Now that I’ve sat with it some, I expected more from Audition, but holy hell this has me fucked up for a number of reasons:

“All words are lies, but pain doesn’t lie. When you’re in pain, you see your own shape clearly. Only pain and suffering will make you realize who you are. Only when you’re in extreme pain do you understand your own mind.”
