Does anybody ever actually use the soy sauce and mustard packets they put in your Chinese takeout bags? I always end up tossing them out.

 

yes. i always ask them for extra mustard packs

 

I use the mustard, the soy sauce will be my only fuel in the apocalypse

 

Like what do you even put hot Chinese mustard on? I feel like it be would be gross on most of my go to orders.

 

basically everything. its basically yellow hot sauce

 

Oh ok. I just use regular hot sauce or Sriracha if I have it if I want to add spice lol

 

I dip my egg roll in it. I use soy sauce on rice

the only thing I don’t care for is the duck sauce, and they always give me a gallon of it

When i worked at a Chinese resturaunt i would keep a plate of crispy noodles in my little cave i had to work in and would dip those in duck sauce, but not much interest in it these days

Haha idk all I know is I've never had Chinese food and not gotten chicken fingers, teriyaki and pork fried rice

I do hear that Chinese is quite different outside of the north east though, my fiance's sister always talks about how awful it is in California since she moved there and her husband who is from there was so amazed and in love with our Chinese food when he visited haha

 

Sweet and sour sauce is my fave. I put it on my rice and whatever my entree is from the Chinese restaurant

There's a vegetarian Chinese food place here that's delish. Love their veggie sweet and sour chicken

 

Last night I ordered Singapore style Chow Mei Fun, and on the menu it didn't mention that they just dump every protein they have in it. Chicken, pork, egg, and shrimp. I am fine with the others, but Chinese takeout shrimp kinda skeeves me out and I don't trust it.
