Fair enough. Even though TDAG is a hard one to top, I think the fact that YC has more out and is more consistently better makes them higher on my list than BN.

 

I think Brand New has like 3-5 enjoyable tracks...

 

They have half a great album and one pretty okay album

Noticed on LP's Instagram he responded to a comment saying he's trying play on YC's farewell tour. He also posted an older pic of the band.

 

The extreme love for Brand New is one of the things about this scene that I have never understood. But hey, their music is super important to a lot of people, so that's cool.

I have never been able to get into Brand New. I've tried a bunch of times. Just not for me.

aw, that kind of breaks my heart. If it was going to happen, he wouldn't be campaigning for it. Reminds me of what is happening with the Used and how they aren't letting Quinn or Brandon play the anniversary shows even though they are willing.

 

This would be amazing but I highly, highly, highly doubt it will ever happen.

 

When does Warped officially end? New single on 8/12 or 8/19?

They pretty obviously had some sort of falling out after the Southern Air album cycle. I'm not sure why anyone expected him to be on the tour.

 

What happened between them?

 

Comments on that post are pretty interesting. Didn't think anything would ever come of him publicly wanting back in but still a bummer.

 

I heard a rumor about something drug related through the grapevine. But I am 0% sure about the validity of it. Given the context of what they posted, it would make some sort of sense.

 

Also, did anyone notice that LP is now dating someone else and has no more pictures with his long time fiancee that was with him for many, many years? Something doesn't add up.

 

I don't think anyone expected it, more hoping. But whatever happened was clearly not something that was good on LP's part... Very obvious with the line "Out of respect for him and his future interests, we will not be disclosing any information".

 

I just got the sense from the very beginning that whatever led him to exit the band was not amicable. It does sound like he did something that they couldn't approve of though.

 

For some reason I always felt that Yellowcard looked more like the dicks in the LP situation than LP himself, and with this I don't know if my mind has been changed. I know nothing about the situation obviously though so I'm not gonna say anything for sure

 

I think I underestimated Ryan Keys lyrics. He certainly isnt a poet, but hes got this way of tethering tangible emotion to simple phrases and ideas, and doing it really well. This is one of those bands where just typing out the lyrics isnt enough. You really need to listen to them in context to get the full weight.

I will admit, I like when these guys do more rock tinged songs then pop punk ones, but some of the faster and more aggressive tracks still work well for what they are.
