I think both BLG albums are top heavy too but I still love almost every song on the self-titled and the only song I like on Love Drunk after Contagious is Chemicals Collide. I actually like Crazy World slightly more than Love Drunk.

 

Yellowcard got a yahoo stream? I never knew that, did anyone rip it? Also I'm in need for the Story of the Year one as well I can find most other ones on youtube.

 

Holiday is great

 

Not being a fan of Boys Like Girls, I'm so confused with these posts combining talk of Greenday and BLG. For the longest time I was doubting myself for being a Greenday fan "I don't know any of these songs they are talking about"

 

The last two songs plus Medication on S/T are way below the others for me. On Love Drunk, I guess it's just Chemicals Collide that I'm not crazy about, but I rarely feel like continuing into the second half of the album even though I like all those songs individually, I dunno.

Re: Crazy World, I like it, I think the first two records are quite a bit better and get more play from me, but I certainly think CW is solid in its own right. that's also a front loaded album though imo, I think it's another case where the last two songs are my least favorite by far.

 

I think the low points of that album are "Learning to Fall" and "Medication." I kind of just roll my eyes at the lyrics to both of those. Only song on Love Drunk that I don't love is "The First One." The second half is weaker, but has "Shot Heard Round the World," which might be the best song on the record. The key change in that song is insane.

I just think Crazy World is pretty forgettable, almost across the board. I really like "The First Time" and think "Leaving California" is one of their best power ballads. The rest of it doesn't do much for me, especially whatever the fuck that penultimate track is called.

 

Red Cup Hands Up Long Brown Hair or something I think, haha. yeah, that's my least favorite song on there. I think Life of the Party and Shoot and great laid back tracks in addition to the ones you mentioned. It's not a great album, but I still like it. Is BLG doing anything now? They kinda dropped off the face of the earth...

 

They pressed self-titled on vinyl and are doing a 10-year tour.

 

Gotcha. Are they on hiatus as far as new music goes?

 

As far as I know, this is the first time they've done anything together in a long time. Martin Johnson is obviously still writing a lot of songs for people. Don't know what the other guys are doing, or if there are plans to record another album.

 

between this thread and the brand new thread it's seems like I'm the only person who doesn't typically listen to or associate albums as a whole....

 

Chemicals Collide is pretty easily my favorite song on that album, haha. Well that or She's Got a Boyfriend Now.

 

Shot Heard Round the World is one of my least favorite songs by them. I like Crazy World and Take Me Home as much as anything on Love Drunk.

 

My favorite songs are the title track, She's Got a Boyfriend Now, and Contagious. I don't see the appeal for Chemicals Collide, if it didn't break up all the slow songs at the end of the album I'd just get rid of it entirely.

 

I just think it's a fun song and most of that albums kind of boring to me after "Contagious".

 

I sorta agree, I much much prefer the first half. Also, Take Me Home is such a meh song, I think that's also one of my least favorites on Crazy World

 

Whaaaat? Its so good. Love that song.

 

That one, Hey You, Red Cup whatever, and Stuck in the Middle are the songs that are pretty meh to me on CW

 

Somehow I forgot about the title track, that's one of the best songs they've ever done

 

He sounds so much like Alex Gaskarth in a slightly higher pitch during "Shot Heard Round The World", it's INSANE.

 

BLG are not good imo but this convo is interesting

 

Also. I really love the title track "Love Drunk" however corny the lyrics may be, the end of that song is epic and awesome when they take it up a half step.
