I mean, drums going first is the norm. But by no means is it necessary.

The 10s are my favorite by a long shot, but the 13s are a trip, and that spirit matches with where the band went with the remix album/WRK’s general move away from guitars

A famous “scene” record that had the drums recorded last is My Dinosaur Life.

Not super famous, but Punchline did drums last on Delightfully Pleased. Which, was known since it was recorded. They streamed some recording of the album so drums going last wasn’t a secret.

But Recently learned that their current drummer just wasn’t up to snuff as they started recording. He was out and they had to find a new drummer.

Just emerging from the rock I’ve been living under to learn we’re getting a new YC full length AND a WRK solo record?? Hell yeah!

For their post-LP records I think they’ve used digital drum tracks initially and brought Nate in later in the recording process, but I could be totally wrong.

I'm genuinely so curious to hear how this record is going to sound and have so many questions about how long they've been working on it, etc. Time will tell, I suppose...

I think this is correct, but I can't really remember for sure. I do know that with their older records it was almost always drums first, though.

Just gonna throw out there that the most recent photo looks strongly like Travis Barkers studio and the photographer who worked for Blink the last few years is tagged

Be excellent to each other! Supporter

The idea of a Travis-produced Yellowcard album gets me going.

They have worked with Neal Avron for their entire careers, so that would be a huge switch for them. Neal is semi-retired as far as I know, but he did produce Childhood Eyes (and Linkin Park’s most recent From Zero). So we shall see!

I'm hoping it's Neal Avron. At least over Travis. Can't see them wanting Travis' style. Their albums from OA have sounded faultless.

  18. Doing a Lift A Sail and Yellowcard run. I can never listen to these records separately, they just feel so interconnected. Sonically, thematically etc.

It’s safe to say these never get old, still hitting me like it’s 2014 and 2016. Idk if it’s partly due to nostalgia, regrets about the past or other things along those lines but yeah.

I’ll probably put on the recent EP latter today. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I’m so grateful they’re back again and that it still doesn’t feel like they’ve hit their peak yet. Rare for a band this far into their career.

  19. Something I had never noticed but both albums have a 47 mins runtime. I’m not counting In Time, which I often tack on as a bonus track just like it was back then, but that’s an interesting coincidence.

    Things have changed.

Travis Barker played them all in 30 minutes.

If he produces the album, it could be drums feat. every other instrument lol

Read: The fans complained about the drums and lack of violin on the last two records so they brought in Travis Barker and a full symphony orchestra, what will people complain about next

Edit: It will be the thickness of the font on the album cover

travis playing drums on a YC record would have been the greatest thing i could think of in high school...i'm still pretty excited at even the prospect of it at 37 if i'm being honest lol.
