I wonder how much pressure bands feel putting that first single out after a long absence. Enormous, thinking everyone's got different expectations of what it'll be like and not wanting to disappoint? Or maybe it's not stressful at all since some people are always bound to be disappointed, so fuck it.

attack attack did a weird first single on their comeback EP, it was more like altrock then their usual stuff and then the rest of the songs were straight metalcore bangers, it was like old AA but updated. so i dunno how it works

I think the latter applies more often than one might think. After a long hiatus, there are really no expectations and they aren’t tied to anything or anyone. I think that’s got to be the most freeing thing of all - they can put out whatever they friggin want.

I imagine best case scenario is an evolution of what they’ve done previously and still retaining what we love about them. Sounds cliche but ideal lol

So is there a chance that L. W. Parsons is back as well? I know there is/was some bad blood between them so I don't think it's a possibility but I would be happy. His drumming style was so special on all of the records he was part of.

  8. As I'm about to do a discography run, I want to talk about random tracks such as Savior's Robes, which has jumped into one of my faves. It still blows my mind how they "went there", making a left turn midway through the song with the striking post-rock section. The first time I heard it, my mind was like "wait, this is still Yellowcard!?".

Nate Young posted something to his Instagram
story a couple days ago of the first teaser image. Whether that means anything or not, we’ll see. But he’s been the one filling in on drums for a lot of the shows, I think

Not only on shows as far as I remember, he recorded drums for Lift A Sail and for the Self Titled record as well.

I heard somewhere the drummer for Like Torches was playing the shows this summer. Not sure how true this is though...

I believe the band mentioned this somewhere recently but can’t confirm for sure. He crushed it on the last tour, hope he’s back!

  18. Throwing some appreciation to the acoustic albums today because they're just great on these nice summer mornings before the day totally gets started.

I just had Cut Me, Mick on with the windows open and that bridge to reworked half time chorus hit so good.
