True, but I think she did a great job in the one sequence that she was allowed to actually do anything, so I can still be excited for her next appearance. It's amazing that she was so wasted and yet so much better than any previous Storm appearance, lol.

I'm a little too drunk to put together coherent thoughts, but while Batman v. Superman was a mess, at least it looked really good and the characters felt essential to the plot. This movie had horrible visuals for most of it's runtime, could have cut like 4-6 characters with no consequence to the narrative drive, and somehow got me to dislike an Oscar Isaac performance.

    "What are you doing?"
    "Leaarrnniiiiiinngggggggg."

My biggest disappointment was actually their use of Caliban. What a bummer.

Overall thought it was just ok. There could be potential in the sequel with the new team. I just felt like it took way too long to set up the plot and then the action seemed unimportant. What was the purpose of bringing Rose Byrne back? And do we really need that same voice over that opens up every Xmen movie?

Made $65 mill domestically this weekend. Not great for a holiday weekend.

Ok probably the worst X-Men movie barring Origins. Loved Quicksilver and Storm though. Also really liked the Wolverine rampage. Apocalypse was pretty bad.

I wouldn't say it's as bad as "The Last Stand," since it didn't bungle quite as a beloved storyline and also didn't include quotes from Internet memes.

I think it's telling that one of the lighter, more colorful scenes is when they're walking out of "Return of the Jedi," which exists solely for SInger to rip on "The Last Stand" again. I honestly would have loved to see more of the mutants at the mall.

I want sure if it was just ripping on The Last Stand or also conceding that this was inevitably the worst of the second trilogy

This was a bad movie and a real disappointment after the DFOP.

    Apocalypse was bungled so bad.
Only horseman that made sense was magneto.

There were about 50 first act scenes that were all too brief.
They need to send this back to marvel and start from scratch.

How Singer fundamentally cant direct an emotional scene without prof x, magneto, or wolverine is just flat out amazing.

Really a bummer on basically all levels.

    I do not exist.

I didn't find the film very satisfying. I enjoyed it for the most part but it did feel a bit long and I didn't feel emotionally invested in what was happening.

Singer said he needs a break from the X-Universe, so maybe that'll be good.

There wasn't much character depth to be found in this movie, unfortunately. First Class did it's smaller cast very well.

    Sloppy. Very sloppy.

The X-Men movie franchise has never been able to capture the heart and soul of the X-Men comics.

Having too many characters seems to be a constant black mark on a lot of these comic book films.

Enjoyable, but not good. Kinda my opinion on BvS as well, but I have higher hopes for the DC universe then this one. All that being said though, Sophie Turner man... Just awesome!

I don't understand how hard it is. All movie studios have to do is go to the source material. Movies don't always have to be grounded. Going to the movies is an escape.

Everything you need is right in the comics. I guess I just don't get it.

I actually enjoyed this more than I thought I would. Apocalypse was a terrible villian. The dialogue through out was atrocious. Though I did enjoy myself. To the topic of BvS I definitely preferred this. Also I feel the Stryker section was so unnecessary.

Singer wants a Mystique solo film.

Get the fuck out of here with that shit. Least interesting character in the films.

    Assume It's A Bit

I'm so over Mystique in these movies. At least, when Wolverine was given all the spotlight in the original movies, he was actually an integral character to the X-Men, and Hugh Jackman does a good job as him. Lawrence's Mystique has the exact same arc in every movie thus far, and is just so boring on screen. I groaned at her "You're not students anymore" speech at the end of this one, and I think that's a big issue with these movies. They keep trying to force Mystique as this leader, when that just isn't her character. It feels very forced and unnatural. Yeah, there were more problems than that in this movie (Apocalypse being a shit villain, Angel and Psylocke having no character, some of the new characters' acting (Cyclops's screams near the end were laughable and some of Jean's lines just didn't flow well), and some of the effects (particularly during Quicksilver's scene) were pretty subpar), but Mystique still stands out as the big issue with this whole reboot trilogy. The movie was enjoyable for the most part, mostly since I was just happy to see some justice done to Cyclops, Jean, and Nightcrawler, but it felt like there was just so much wasted potential.

Oh, and I still far prefer this movie to Batman v Superman.

I wouldn't say she's the least interesting... Just that she's been run into the ground after being a focal character for three movies. We know where she ends up, and it seemed like she has reached that turn at the end of First Class... So why is she leading the X-Men two movies later?

Need more Storm though. Alexandra Shipp was :fire: :fire: :fire:

And I feel very comfortable string BvS was a better movie, since it keeps being brought up
