I wish they could’ve gotten Vince Gilligan back for an episode.

Or, to put it another way, "I have no idea how to end the series at this point so I'm just gonna keep punting"

 

Seems crazy to bring back a long-running show known for its unpopular ending without having a plan to make things right. If they had no plans to make a definitive conclusion for the alien plot, why bother at all? The MOTW stories are the best episodes, but they don’t wrap up anything. If the actors want it to be over, 17 episodes is PLENTY to make a more satisfying conclusion.

 

I get not crafting the final episode as a series finale. Just hope Scully gets a decent ending.

 

What is the point of bringing it back and NOT attempting to craft a better conclusion than the season 9 finale? Does Fox actually think these two mini-seasons are a bridge to a new series with Einstein and Miller? If so, they will have lost out on a big opportunity.

 

I actually forgot about Einstein and Miller, haha

 

All the reviews are saying the first episode is terrible but the rest are much improved over last season. So that’s something!

 

I think I enjoyed two of the episodes last season

 

I liked two episodes... Mulder and Scully Meet the Were-Monster and Home Again.

And I didn't mind the two mythology episodes and Founders Mutation.

Babylon was one I didn't like but only saw one time.

 

I loved Mulder and Scully Meet the Were-Monster, but then again I'm a sucker for Rhys Darby so...

 

Is it me or does this feel like it's been tremendously under-promoted?

EDIT: That final twist...woof. Well, at least we got the mythology episode out of the way.

 

30 minutes in and this fucking sucks. Chris Carter is a hack.

 

It was shot pretty bad too.

Is it a MOTW next or is this Mythology stuff taking over at least the first two episodes?

 

Pretty sure the premiere and finale are the only mythology episodes, thank god

10 episodes.

The voiceover stuff is so cringey and one of the worst parts of the original show.

 

I’m almost done with Season 1 and the mythology episodes have been some of my favorites. I’m on ep 20 right now and I’ve liked all but a few so far.

 

I liked the mythology stuff all the way until the first movie.
