Meltzer says Matt and Jeff will become broken. Plan is to buy out the character from Anthem and to tease it until then. Backstage they fear their old gimmick is going to get old fast.

It's been fun to see Matt sneak in Broken aspects, I think teasing/a gradual introduction is the way to go. Great news, should be WONDERFUL.

 

i forget where I saw it, but I've always liked the idea that they keep the gimmick for now and then have ~something~ happen (can't really do a head bump like broken...) to give Matt time away for his paternity leave, then come back broken

 

word is wwe is introducing new united states and intercontinental titles in the next few weeks. also, both sets of tag belts are getting a slight redesign to have the custom side plates for the teams.

 

PW Torch is reporting that Mike Bennett and Maria Kannellis are heading straight to Smackdown and skipping NXT altogether

 

That's.. weird. Bennett could really use time down in NXT.

 

Dude's been doing this for a while, and he's fairly mediocre in the ring. If he went to NXT, he'd never leave. Whereas he can move right to Smackdown's midcard and basically become the new Miz/Maryse with Maria.

Makes a perfect Sami/Mojo/Luke foil for the next few months, without overexposing KO to those feuds

True. They should've just never moved Miz/Maryse to Raw honestly. I was hoping Bennett would go down and maybe improve a little in NXT, but they are desperate for heels on Smackdown right now.

 

I agree. Though, he'll do great there pushing guys up the card on RAW (and Sami should have stayed for that feud), and I think he might have run the course with D-Bry in the short term.

 

Mike and Maria are going to be fantastic on the main roster.

 

Does anyone know when we should expect that to happen?

 

Jinder is going to unmask his face to reveal he's really Mike Bennett so probably soon

I'm so happy for Candice. So overdue. Hope she's signed. Women division in NXT come tourney time is going to be FUCKING STACKED.

 

Assuming they run it like the CWC (but with 16 women?), the roster could be nuts. Kimber Lee, Heidi Lovelace, Evie, Kairi Hojo, probably Io Shirai, Candice...all that they could sign within a few months. Add in a couple already on their NXT roster, and a veteran or two

 

I've heard Nixon Newell and hopefully Toni Storm too.

 

32 women. Tons of room for all sorts of competitors, should be amazing.

 

Ah, even better. I assume that means people like Billie/Peyton, Nikki Cross, etc would be in it too.

 

PWG next even in May is called "Head Like A Cole" so wondering if that'll be his send off from the indies

 

They've done Black Cole Sun in the past. Probably not something to read into too much.
