Love that she can use the Rhodes name but apparently Cody can't

 

Got a couple hours to kill so I'm gonna watch PWG 13 (bought it Saturday night). Really excited for this Trent/Chuck Taylor match.

I had to purchase this the minute it went live, I have been waiting for Heath merch for soooooo long.

I still think the biggest missed merch opportunity since Punk ice cream bars was an 80's metal band-esque "world tour" tee for 3MB that had the house show dates for the surrounding couple of months on the back. Would've printed money with smarks.

Can Cody not use the Rhodes name at all or can he not use "Cody Rhodes"?

 

Since it isn't his legal name, they are claiming the rights to the name. He is trying to change it legally to Cody Rhodes like Ryback is.

 

Right, but I wonder if the issue is "Cody Rhodes", and "John Rhodes" would also get around the legal claims

Cody Rhodes on the Sma Roberts podcast is a really good listen. Two points that I thought were interesting: 1. Two others were planning on leaving WWE with him, but backed out when it came time to do it. He didn't name them, but he said that one of them is in a much better spot now and happier and the other is still miserable. I would guess the happy one is Zack Ryder, but not sure who the miserable one is. Maybe Cesaro? 2. He said they all knew about the brand split and draft about six months before they did it and they had filmed commercials before Wrestlemania. Smackdown was also using the Syfy logo for them so I don't know if the plan was it was going back, but thats what it seems like.

Oddly excited for RAW tonight. Basically just because of the debut of the Cruiserweight division. I'm sure they will find some way to fuck it up though.

Yeah, hard to believe Cesaro wanted to walk in May when he was getting the IC title push and getting those solid mid-card matches. Then again, maybe he was ready to walk and those kept him around...I agree with Ryder being the happy one. He had no reason to stay until about 2 weeks before WM.

 

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure Cesaro's contract is up soon and he still hasn't resigned with the company. That's really the only reason why I could believe its Cesaro and I don't think an IC title push would be enough for him to stick around.

 

Or Foley does it as part of the punishment. "Since you guys love interfering so much, Im gonna make sure nobody interferes in this match".

Making both dudes battle in a steel cage right before title matches is pretty solid punishment.

 

You know we are getting a Rollins/Reigns vs Rusev/Owens main event

 

I hadnt seen that, but yeah, that makes me think we're gonna see Cesaro tie it up tonight, and then he loses at CoC and Sheamus gets to boost someone like Sami or Neville

 

Nah, I think we're getting Jericho/KO vs Sami/Reigns. Probably with Jericho winning so he can lose sunday.
