It sucks that a lot of these guys have to lose in the first round. Hopefully a lot of developmental contracts get doled out. Ciampa/Gargano in the first round is a travesty but you knew they were going to face each other no matter what so it makes sense.

Tag Title match on NXT this week is ridiculous. Absolutely worth going out of your way to watch.

 

Man, dude on Lucha is in amazing shape for his age.

 

Based on the announced bracket I'm going to guess the two semi final matches will be Zack Sabre Jr/Gran Metalik and Kota Ibushi/Rich Swann, with Sabre Jr/Ibushi as the finals.

 

Exactly what I'm expecting as well. I could see whoever comes out of Gargano/Ciampa (Gargano, I assume) winning that over Swann though.

 

Gulak (presumably) not getting past the 2nd round is a travesty of the highest order.

 

I think it'll be Swann because i'd think they'd want one of their Performance Center guys in the final 4 and it'd be a good way to help get him over before he gets a full NXT run. Plus if they're going to have Ibushi get that far you need to at least give him a match against someone who can do almost as much crazy flippy shit as him.

Yeah but at the same time he'd be losing to Sabre Jr in what I can imagine would be the best technical wrestling match in a WWE ring probably since Punk/Bryan at Over The Limit 2012. As long as he makes a good impression he'll be alright.

If anyone is going to be a surprise darkhorse candidate to make it to the semi finals though it's Gulak, though it would come at the expense of ZSJ which would be even more egregious.

 

Oh yeah, don't get me wrong, Gulak/ZSJ is probably the match I'm 2nd most excited for after Ibushi/ZSJ. I just would have liked for Drew to get a bit more of a run and have that as a quarter or semi.

 

Smackdown aired in Canada and a post-show revealed Brock's Summerslam opponent: Yes, it's Randy Orton.

 

Surprise!

 

I'm down - it makes sense too because if Lesner gets hurt or loses at 200 then Orton is a big enough name to through into a different match or whatever

 

LOL Jones gets popped for a potential violation and taken off the card. Brock is now main-eventing the biggest UFC ppv ever.

id say hold off until Mania because that's a 100% marquee big-time matchup, but i cant really think of anything better for now for lesnar? You need to give him an opponent big enough at summerslam that keeps him away from the belt so there you have it

 

That Bayley/Bliss match was great. Can go for more of that

 

Also, Rhyno has the weirdest body type of anyone ever. Looks like he should be walking around on all fours

I was like... what could they possibly get out of putting the hype bros against Blake and Murphy...

still not sure the point. Are they giving Rhyno a push? Did they just want to be like "lol Ryder both won the RAW main event and was in a no-contest match in the middle of NXT in the same week lol lol lol?" guess we'll have to see

 

Rhyno is a legit fridge

 

Really love the angle they went with for Brian Kendrick on the CWC Bracketology show. All of them were pretty fantastic, actually.
