sorry if it's already been mentioned, but with SD! going live, does that mean the same arena is hosting two nights in a row for Raw and SD or no? probably would be difficult at times from a scheduling perspective, but the less miles and road time - especially to meet a live deadline the next night - seems like a positive.

hell, does the Raw following a PPV take place in the same arena / city? i've never really payed attention to that aside from Mania / Raw after Mania.

 

Smackdown is taped on Tuesdays anyway so whatever they're doing now is what they'll continue doing. All the cities are pretty close to each other, but not the same place. Its not like they're traveling from NY to Cali over night.

 

No, but Smackdown and Raw are already usually pretty close locations. For example, draft will be in Detroit, Smackdown will be next day in Grand Rapids. Providence, RI and Worcester, MA the next week.

RAW after Summerslam is also in the Barclays Center. After WM they usually do an arena in the same city. Not sure on other PPVs

 

This logic requires the assumption that WWE has a long term picture beyond "Roman Reigns wins a bunch"

If I'm fantasy booking I'd love to see a storyline like:

Sami and KO continue their feud they've set up. One of them costs the other the briefcase at MITB. Sami and KO continue to feud even more. Both get drafted to Raw. They fight at Battleground, KO wins. KO argues Sami doesn't deserve to be in Raw. Challenges Sami to a match at Summerslam, loser has to go to Smackdown. KO wins, Sami spends the rest of the year proving himself on Smackdown, KO tears up Raw. KO finds ways to continue to antagonize Sami across the brands, quite possibly costs him a title at some point, but they hold off an actual match between them until Survivor Series (or maybe WM).

 

At least they won't edit crowd reactions anymore

 

I love this thread. The idea for brand split is actually really compelling, but I'm not into two world titles though.

 

Definitely think they are going to roll most of the NXT roster to Smackdown

I wonder if the split is why they hadn't booked a show here in Minneapolis yet. As far as I remember, they always announced the next date during the show when they were here.
