    The Real Azor Ahai

Also with Smackdown being live on Tuesdays, TNA is absolutely fucked

I think I'm just going to stick to youtube for TNA stuff from now on. All of that was tough to watch.

Moving Smackdown to Tuesday may be the nail in the coffin of TNA.

Just throwing my hat into the "stoked for the brand split/live show" ring. This is gonna be cool.

Yeah, Im mostly looking at it from a "which divisions have a few strong members, and then no depth".

Womens division and tag division are the two that stand out. There's maybe 5 or 6 women, and like 4 tag teams, that can genuinely compete for titles. Everyone else is filler, and no amount of storytelling will fix that.

Whereas IC and US title, and a cruiserweight title, they go 10 deep right now, so splitting them is easier.

How did the brand split work with the unified title. Presuming Roman wont get drafted, if he loses, which brand does he go to?

If he loses he'd probably stick on Raw. I can see Cena being an anchor for Smackdown.

Cena on Smackdown would be great

Am I the only one who believes there should be 2 world titles?

It just doesn't work. The second title started to lose relevance last time and it would again.

They should go with zero world titles.

  12. I'm on the fence with the brand split. Hopefully they learned some things from the last time they did it, but when have they ever learned from any of their mistakes?

The idea with the split titles made sense in theory but it eventually became very obvious that the WHC was the lesser of the two even though they tried to prop them up as equal. It also doesn't really make sense to have two top champions when there should be "THE GUY" (ha ha) that's clearly the top of the company.

The only real way around it would be to retire the "WWE Championship" as we know it since its history is far more storied than the WHC or any other new title they might come up with and start fresh with the Raw Championship and Smackdown Championship. Otherwise, the WWE Title will always be higher on the tier.

The second world title only lost relevancy after they dropped the brand split though. They just stopped caring about smackdown as a whole which made them drop the brand split but up until then it was fine.

Even during the original split, the "top title" was whichever was on Raw at the time. JBL can rant and rave about being the longest running WWE champ in Smackdown history all he wants, but the fact is the WWE Championship was the B title during that period.

This could be exciting but they will have to find ways to keep it fresh. I think they need two world titles because too much crossover will just make it seem pointless to have split in the 1st place. Being live should help a lot too.

Move Raw to 2 hours and this could certainly work. I don't see the roster being deep enough to have a compelling 3 hour raw. Would rather just see a two hour show and then an hour long show on the network with the lower card matches for the people who really care about them.

Don't bring back the WHC, actually elevate the US and IC titles and you are fine.

That's not a bad solution if they treat it similar to the B world title

Another reason the brand split is pissing me off: You couldn't find a way to include Damien Sandow in your plans?

Been thinking about a lot of the guys that recently left. Cody, Wade, Ryback. All could have been Smackdown title contenders if built properly.

Re: the main belt, they should make it so the champion can be a RAW or SMACKDOWN guy with it coming and going between brands.

How does that work with actually contesting the WWE Championship? Presumably the champion would be allowed to appear on any brand, but who determines when they actually have to put their belt on the line and against who?

I'm down for 2 world titles. I'm cautiously excited depending on how they split the brands. I'd like if they did the split like it was from 2002-2007ish with Raw a more entertainment based roster and smackdown having the better in ring product. Something like this:

Raw: Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar, Dean Ambrose, Wyatts, Randy Orton, Rusev, Shameus, The Usos, Miz, Jericho, Kane, Big Show/ Enzo/Big Cass, Dudleys, New Day, Del Rio, Corbin

Smackdown: Rollins, Cena, Owens, Zayn, Cesaro, AJ Styles, Gallows/Anderson, Balor, Nakamura, Crews, Ziggler, Women's Division
