Oh shit! [NJPW Invasion Attack spoiler] looks like Jushin Liger is retiring this year and challenged KUSHIDA for the Jr title in what could possibly be his final match.

 

Oh didn't hear the retirement part.. interesting.

And holy hell was that Kushida/Ospreay match great, met and surpassed my already high expectations.

 

Cody Hall... jesus. Hope he's ok. That looked brutal.

I can understand if some people have issues with some of the stuff in the match, but man I fucking loved that main event.

Los Ingobernables de Japon are like 2013/2014 Prince Devitt led Bullet Club level hot right now. It's almost like Gedo was like "Oh yeah WWE? You wanna steal Bullet Club away from us? Fine i'll just create another faction just as cool". Naito was over as hell in that building. Stark contrast to how he was perceived by the Japanese fans 2 years ago.

So many great feuds set up for the future Naito/Ishii, Omega/Elgin, Okada/Sanada, Tanahashi/Fale, Kushida/Liger, Shibata/Nigata all sound great.

 

I was planning on watching NJPW live last night but then passed out before it started. I'll catch it today. It felt weird to not have watched any wrestling at all this weekend after the overload of last weekend.

 

Spoilers for NJPW and LU tapings for season three. Hope that isn't giving too much away already.

Looking a lot like Ricochet is on his way to the WWE. People reporting from the LU taping said that its looking like he could be written off. Dropping the belts in NJPW is kind of a big deal too.
Fuck me for reading the spoilers for AW3. Love the result though.

whoa. I didn't know WhatCulture made videos besides wrestling ones. I've spent about fours hours so far watching random shit I'm not really interested in, but their videos are quick, interesting and humorously made.

 

I really love that direction. The whole landscape of the belts are going to be soooo so good come season 3.

Invasion Attack was great. Naito finally got love from the fans.


I also thought that the team of Kevin Kelly and Steve Corino did an incredible job. Much better than the Wrestle Kingdom team.

 

Honma is definitely my favorite NJPW guy. Such a fun guy to watch.

 

I'd choose talking about wrestling in this thread with you jerks over Wreddit any day.

 

I still thoroughly enjoy wreddit but realized once a subreddit or any group of people get too large shit happens.

While we're on the subject Reigns can be magic but he's used wrong. WWE consistently teases good TV but always messes it up at some point

 

So I randomly decided to watch MITB 2014 last night (or at least the first half of the PPV) and it got me thinking about Damien Sandow. This was his status for each of the following MITB PPV's:

2013 - Won the World Heavyweight contract
2014 - Lost to Adam Rose (fought as Paul Revere)
2015 - Not on the card
2016 - TBD (most likely not on the card or possibly released at that time)

It sucks that the guy is beloved by most fans and can get over with most gimmicks thrown his way, but WWE keeps pushing him aside. In some ways I hope for his release so that he can finally move on to a company that will use him properly, but deep down I'm really hoping that WWE wakes up and starts to actually utilize him again.

 

Maybe they'll give him the IC title for one day.

 

Judging from the seats I got for the next NXT show in Largo in a few weeks, I'm pretty sure i'm probably going to be sitting right by Izzy.

 

Give him a knock-off El Generico gimmick and let him battle Kalisto.

 

So Shane is officially running Raw again tonight. Everything that happened at Mania really mattered eh?

 

haha, that Reigns line "I'm not a bad guy, I'm not a good guy, I'm a guy" is right out of KO's interview before WM. Wouldnt surprise me if KO handed him that one to try and help
