welp, here's Corbin getting his win back

 

That Impact/Matt contract is weird. It reads to me as the work they did under Impact is theirs to own, i.e. Merchandise, and the videos of their matches/promos. It doesn't fully read to me like they have all future control of the gimmick in the long run, just what they did in Impact

 

Corbin ruined this entire segment

Owens promo was so good, maybe the most personality he's shown

 

the rockstar mr. money in the bank the artist formerly known as shinsuke nakamura

 

but doesn't the fact that it (as far as we know) started while they were employed my Impact/was "created" while in Impact, trump all of that and count as their IP?

I was kind of thinking he'd just attack Shinsuke as he was entering. I think thats the next US title feud

 

Lack of Rusev ruins the hype for me a bit

 

If that was rusev instead of Corbin it would have been way more believable, maybe rusev wins the us title back or something

 

Yeah I think that's where it gets dicey. The wording of this contract isn't the best, which I think is why Matt is fighting it as hard as he can. It's going to get interesting.

And Nakamura had the second biggest reaction at the house show last night. His cheers were on Styles' level.

 

Not really. No company that Im aware of actually has wrestlers as employees, so, its up to what their independent contracting terms say. Someone with the Hardys leverage would have a very different contract than, say, Ellsworth. That said, I bet most WWE contracts look like that too, where WWE owns the character and trademarks the name. Only in rare loopholes is it otherwise.

Unless the Hardys have emails/phone call records that have Impact owners saying something other than that contract, its pretty clear Impact owns it
