Read the spoilers earlier and it sounded like this would be one of the worst raw episodes of the year

 

It was no different than last week in terms of being awful

 

I started seeing that it was legit right after I posted haha my bad

 

You trippin'. Last week was pretty good imo

 

Yeah last week got some stories moving

The only person who knows the Chrisley best is @Oddpac87

 

Wasnt as bad as that, since it did move along a few stories. But the Miz match booking, Alexa/Nia, then the Braun thing, Tag Team turmoil being forever...never really gave the crowd a chance to get into it. Not having Bayley/Hardys wrestle, and having Sheamus/Cesaro as a heel team didnt help it either.

 

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz raw. weird times when the cruiserweight stuff was the most interesting you also notice how much JeriKO helped raw last year.

Looks like it is Joey Ryan's new promotion

 

Holy Shit at that lineup announced for their first show. $10!

 

Also, people seem to think this is Joey Ryan breaking off from PWG, and "taking this talent with him."

If true, wonder how it'll affect PWG not being able to book these guys, including their new tag champs.

 

I don't think Joey is being malicious. He knows the product can be bigger than it is and is making an effort to expand his brand. From a business perspective, it makes sense. It's not like the booking for PWG is very regular anyways.

 

Very very boring and uneventful RAW. Thank god I didn't watch it live.

 

The thing about the Joey Ryan promotion is that PWG works partially because it does shows so infrequently. Their hot streak of great shows has been in tact for years now. I wouldn't want more than one show every month and a half or so.

There's also the intangible assets to consider. That legion hall, the PWG name, the magic of the whole thing. The decision to not expand has become part of their worth. As long as PWG exists alongside BAR or whatever, it will always be the place to be and BAR will just be another indie fed with a lot of the same guys.

 

Yeah, its actually very smart to basically make a touring brand of the main PWG/Lucha guys and make money night to night (but not have it streamed or recorded) and then have PWG be essentially the PPVs.

Especially since 90% of PWG matches have no continuity or overarching storyline tying it together

 

Which is part of why it works, and the biggest reason it's an "alternative" to WWE and other indies. I do not want my PWG to be based on angles, every other promotion ever already does that. The "because we can" attitude is the best.
