I'm buzzed and just now sitting down to watch Takeover and fill out my Rumble predictions. Without spoilers: has it been a good show?

 

Yes, much better than I expected it to be

 

Nice to see the Widow's Peak again

 

Crowds been great, Cien/Strong match aside where they didnt really care.

 

I feel like that's how a handful of Takeovers have been. Not the greatest card on paper and yet they still do a damn good job with the show.

 

Nikki has to win in a follow up

 

I was impressed by all 4 fighters there

 

It's been pretty good. Certainly worth watching just not Toronto level good.

 

Don't love the ending, but REALLY impressed with Nikki Cross, Peyton, and Billie. That match was really good. And like I said before, was really nervous that the appearance of Seth might have cast too large of a shadow over the match, but those ladies totally delivered.

 

Awesome, I was worried given that I could only recall what the title matches even were... and the fact it's sponsored by honey barbeque sauce

 

Put enough talent in the ring, in service of really basic storylines, and it works out. Takeovers aren't far off the theory of PWG shows at this point.

That womens match is a good sign though. Lots of storylines to work with from that

And to think the just signed a bunch of new female talent too. Women's division, much like the tag division, is in really good shape.

 

I could see Asuka going up undefeated to keep that going on the main roster.

Could open them up to somehow involve the title in the women's tournament this summer. Like the winner of that gets the winner of a mini number 1 contenders tourney at a takeover.

 

Yeah, that match delivered. All four women put in their fair share, even if I'm disappointed they're keeping the belt on Asuka (at least for a bit).

Yeah, the women's division went fom still feeling like it was in rebuild mode to having a very strong foundation again in the span of 15 minutes
