The fact that TK is throwing around that much money to top guys is such a great thing for the industry. That’s life changing stuff that forces the entire industry to treat wrestlers well. Otherwise I could see WWE going the UFC route and severely underpaying talent to maximize profits. I mean WWE already did that by firing people during the pandemic, but if AEW didnt exist it probably would have been a lot worse.

Mike I already like you, you don’t need to be a footy fan as well.

Sometimes it's nice being an Arsenal fan. No matter how much drama is going on, you can rest assure that your team will stay losers forever.

The biggest think TK has done (as delightful as the top numbers are) is break the "go sign in NXT for $50k and maybe get a raise when you get called up" model. Got no reason to doubt Joey Janela saying all AEW talent make $100k; which between the travel, risk to body, shorter careers, etc, seems about right.

Yep and a lot of those guys at 100K can also do indie dates which I assume adds a nice chunk as well.

I'd actually love to know what the per apperance guys get as well; might be different now that Dark, etc is gone, but, feels like that was probably a pretty sweet monthly-ish gig.

Just a wildly different contract to ECW, who was the "we're different" brand, but what that mostly meant was they werent gonna pay you when time came due.

AEW’s spending impacted WWE, too. They’ve been quietly re-upping guys with drastic raises for a while now.

It was reported at the time of their signings that KO and Sami got seven figure deals, and it wasn’t like, a million flat or something. That kind of base/downside was virtually unheard of for anything but top top guys not even that long ago.

Yep, I was deeply, deeply sad that KO/Sami didnt leave, but especially knowing KO's situation and travel, and knowing he got PAID....even before it all worked out nicely in that bloodline story, I felt good for him.

Also, holy shit, the AEW ratings are BAD this week, and they've got work to do introducing elite talent to a US audience. Ospreay lost 100k at his intro, basically...which is wild.

Ian should be the full-time Collision announcer. At least give him Rampage.
