the showcase mode is interminable anyways i miss the days where the DLC key unlocked all extras (it says it does still but it doesn't). the presentation has taken a dive every year, down to skipping some entrances rather than recreating them. last years was just match footage transitions between really stilted attempts at recreating sequences (with some cool Cena talking head bits)

really hoping they didn't lock a Sammartino behind it this year because doing 15 of those sucks let alone 40. i just want to start my decades long Universe monstrosity from jump gdi

 

Showcase mode will have 21 matches in it

Yeah most excited to play that match. I'll just be glad to get everything in showcase unlocked then I can live in universe mode. Too bad it doesn't have online features

 

Watching that UE vs. War Dogs cage match now and my god Clark Connors did the most obvious blade job I’ve ever seen yikes.

i just found a spot for this one and am v excited to watch tonight. was hard not to look at highlight clips and ruin it for myself when i was waking up that day lol

 

I think they are trying to do that with My GM for future games

 

I think his back isn’t too bad considering he’s been taking bumps. The extra muscle has helped, I imagine. The chamber is pretty padded too.

 

i don't think we will see any Universe enhancements of note until they cut off PS4/XONE and then hopefully port up to more a modern engine. the devs said the reason they've never allowed more CAW slots or images etc is because those storage limitations are baked deep in the game and it would require a massive overhaul and could break a lot. you look at Universe and it's still near identical to older games, hard not to imagine it's another deeply entrenched thing that references other code a lot and is easy to break. 2k22 shipped able to do tag finishers in Universe mode but the very first hotfix broke it and they never figured out how to fix it lol.

basically 2K/Visual Creations inherited a pile of jank from THQ/Yukes that was only legible to the specific nerds who made it. mygm, myfaction and the other stuff 2k made themselves is the only stuff modernizing
