Internet wrestling geeks get reallllly aggro about known 'wrestling journalists' speculating or predicting certain things happening.

i don't think this gets mentioned enough. i went to the OG all in in hoffman estates, and the journey was damn near disastrous. trin line only got you to ohare airport, and then took a cab to get there. no problem when it's 4 in the after noon. but try getting a cab/ride share when the show is over. surge pricing and limited available rides... so the first few all outs since, when they would have shows out there, i'd immediately say no to goin. which made the united center and wintrust arena such better choices, being in the city.

their last visit to my hometown in houston: they has a show in rosenburg.. about a 45-70 min drive from downtown rather than goin back to the university of houston campus which is near the center of town and has done good business both times it's been there.

i don't know how far lowell is to boston proper, or clarksville is to nashville proper, but most of your a market shows should be...IN your a market.

That first All In was godawful for Ubers. Made the mistake of taking one there and one after. Took us over an hour after the show ended just to find one. We ended up just parking there on our own the next year for All Out.

I’ve watched wrestling 75% of my life and I’ve never seen so many people talking about wrestling ratings and wrestling ticket sales.

You are totally right about that arena but I do understand why they went there instead of going somewhere inside the city. At least now they run Wintrust which is much closer to downtown but at least I can pay 4 dollars for parking instead of 30.

I keep hearing about other venues they run that they are always outside of the city and hard to get to during rush hours.

It was actually much easier for us in 2019 when we went there because we did GCW also and both venues weren't that far at all from our hotel.

I went to the GCW shows there only after the pandemic. Going there straight from Collision felt like a cool afterparty.

i just took the cab to the subway line near ohare on the way back after a 90 min wait and took the train back the rest of the way, since my airbnb was at the southside of town. the pit stop at la gunitas brewing made the travel back worth the struggle.

i remember reading the horror stories of the last mania that was in metlife in nj. shudder.

a bit concerned about how there seems to be a lot of words but not a lot of deatils?

Like is Defy going to be part of Progress now and be ultimately reporting to new owners? Are the two brands going to remain independent and this'll just make it easier to do some more cross promotional stuff?

Regarding AEW locations, I do wonder how quickly we start to see changes in advertising, pricing, and routing. They obviously stand to benefit from a huge shake-up, and they've had a lot of blind spots in their coverage. I spoke about Boston earlier, which was once averaging 2-3 Dynamites per year and has since slowed dramatically. Tony has also not-so-coyly teased a PPV there pretty much every time they've come through, and, no dice.

As a Mainer, I can say with certainty that there's absolutely a market up this way for them, and we have two venues that are the perfect size for AEW TV. Too small for WWE TV, but their house shows always do well. We have an indy promotion here that has featured pretty much the who's who of the AEW roster over the years, most notably MJF. They sell out every single month.

I'm sure there are markets all over the country that are very similar.

Once Meltzer gives Angle a 5 star rating I’ll have more respect for him

They have a new person in charge of live events if I remember correct. There would probably be some changes in the coming months in regards to that.

I put little to no stock in Meltzer's star ratings but giving Jericho/Takeshita 4.25 made me lol. Dude looooooves to cape for Jericho these days.

Yeah, that's what I meant when I said I wonder how quickly we'll see changes implemented. I expect things will improve quite a bit.

And the underrated NXT Vengeance Day matches. Yeah I know it’s his opinion but his bias, when he claims to not have any, will always be funny.

They didn't explain it, so it's still a mystery as of now. He just said he took council from many people, including The Rock.

My hope is that he, at some point very soon, cuts a promo where he says that he heard from a lot of important people in his life and realized The Rock was attempting to manipulate him for his own gain, which now aligns with Rock's heel persona. Hell, Cody can even reference Arn Anderson without actively mentioning AEW. Arn literally foretold Cody doing something like this on Dynamite.

I think he can get away with saying he was trying to be the company guy without getting too meta.
