It’s really exciting - Rumble has always been my favorite PPV but this year definitely feels more elevated

That's messed up....could've just moved him back to backstage announcer or pre-show panel.

 

I mean the messed up thing was hiring him in the first place. Dude was obviously ill equipped for the job. They have struggled mightily to find a secondary announce team. I wish they could just bring back Mauro now that Vince/Kevin Dunn are gone.

 

Kevin was a okay backstage interviewer but with all the people they have now doing that I guess they didn’t consider putting him back in that position.

Call up Vic Joseph to replace him or Cole on Raw. Easiest choice since he already worked with Graves and Barrett in NXT.

 

It felt inevitable, unfortunately. They've got plenty of part timers to fill the panels that, like them or not, know more than he does about wrestling. Kayla will always host them too. And they've got their new favourites when it comes to backstage interviewers too.

 

yeah i mean he was hired for commentary and was really bad at it, the sentiment that they could have put him elsewhere feels like it only exists in wrestling. i wouldn't keep someone who showed zero improvement over a year plus either

 

Mauro was the one voice who broke outside of the Kevin Dunn play-by-play mold. I would love it if they brought him back but I know he left on not great terms. Even when Jimmy Smith was there he sounded muted because of Graves/Saxton constantly yelling over eachother.
