If we're counting the full year, then my answers would either be Wardlow or Jeff Jarrett. Both guys given WAY too much TV time and spotlight in title scenes relative to what their value is, and at the expense ultimately of several other acts.

Wardlow started the year in that start/stop feud with Joe, went over Hobbes as he was building momentum, etc.

Jeff Jarrett was in 10 title matches or #1 contendership matches this year. His has singles wins over Eddie and Dax.

Though this is a good answer too. They wasted how many months of the womens division around pushing Paige up to win at All In and then do nothing with it.

 

Also, fucking lol, its 100% Jericho. I forgot he had that unsanctioned match with Adam Cole this year too.

His wins were over Takeshita, Sammy and Keith Lee...the Takeshita one being particularly insane.

He strangled Ricky Starks' momentum, then stifled Cole before the MJF angle saved him, inexplicably got an Ospreay match, and now is the #1 tag contender

 

Punk is still a top 5 maybe top 3 draw brother

WBD was reportedly big on Punk so it wouldn’t be surprising if they’re interested in RAW. But that would be really, really bad for AEW if they get dropped for WWE and have to go try and secure a deal with a lesser network

 

Also had the maybe worst babyface turn I have seen in awhile. I also like how last year ended with him in an endless feud with Ricky Starks and 12 months later is....feuding with Starks again and probably taking the tag belts off him.
