Caught the Punk promo on YouTube, and it's the most underwhelming babyface boring bs.

 

Promo was a bit of a let down for sure.

 

I’m whatever with the promo, it wasn’t anything special. But I will say you could see it in his eyes that he wanted to go off on aew.

Promo was bland as hell. Figured the first one back would be, so hopefully from here it gets better.

 

The promo was whatever. Never expected him to say anything about AEW because this is WWE. He may not be scripted, but unless your Michael Cole, no one is mentioning any other companies ever.

What was most annoying was his hat hair. Wet it and dry it or something, dude. You look like you just got out of bed.

 

I am thinking this is going to be the most controlled and watered down run Punk has ever had, no drama, no believable worked shoots. Also Punk for the first time doesn't have the "cool indie guy vs the sports entertainers" thing going for him like he had in his first WWE run . Today's modern "cool indie guys" all told him to get fucked, he has lost that cred forever.

His drama and his indie underdog cred were his two big appeals especially in his iconic 2011-2014 run. I think people are going to realize quickly that without those two things going for him Punk is kind of boring as hell.

 

watched that entire Raw and Punk was legit the least memorable part lol. there will be good matches, stories, and promos but it is all going to come from a middle-aged narcissist portraying the character of CM Punk.

 

I wish he would stop wrestling and just go do a dumb entitled 40-something white guy podcast so wrestling stops revolving around this broken down wrestler playing the same hits on the mic and in the ring. His current ability doesn’t warrant this kind of discourse lol

As underwhelming the promo was I’m not sure why people are nit picking that he said that.

 

The best part of CM Punk's entire return run has been the speculation and anticipation before his AEW debut. The guy is an unlikeable, wet fart. Any story for him besides being a sellout shitheel feels like a waste of time.

unfortunately, i think soon enough punk will be just another guy on the roster. that promo had all of those exciting edges smoothed way down.

WWE crowds are going crazy for Cody Rhodes reading sponsored tweets right now. Punk could have sat in the ring with his legs crossed for 10 minutes & it would have gone over with that audience. They’ll probably milk this before he starts interacting with people.
