Watching the Dynasty ppv, what the fuck was that 5 minutes slap off? Tanahashi and Shibata just slapped eachother and thats it?

 

Shibata is still not cleared for a standard match by NJPW.

Deal originally was 10yr/$1bil for 2 shows a year (so $50mil/show). Which, considering WM's 2-day gate isnt even that much, is an astronomical figure to get for not having to do a ton of the work (pretty sure SA does all the ticketing, etc). If they're getting the Rumble, I bet they're paying even more. Like, corporate bottom line, they'd be crazy not to do those shows...but my god is it awful politics/morality

I know that many people hate them but you have to be wack to watch this match and say they are not good.

 

Since Perry is wrestling now I have time to write some notes from the arena:

1. So far today is much better than last night's show.
2. During the women's match the Japanese crowd was very suppoof Mone while the western crowd were very vocal against her.
3. The crowd was popping big for Dustin and Brody
4. It's so weird watching wrestling in Japan. No chanting and barely any crowd noise. The experience is cool but it gets old after awhile.
5. The Kenny merxh sold out pretty quick. I managed to get a WK shirt for like 25 dollars which is like half than what I would pay in the US.
6. The crowd was very emotionally invested in Shibata, Tanahashi and Naito. During last night's Naito/Hiromu match there were a lot of people shouting random things to them. Many women too. I also saw some people legit tearing up when Shibata returned last night.

And somehow he is getting booed. Gabe Kidd is getting a face reaction here for some reason.

Omega v Kidd was fucking incredible

It is an impossibility for Kenny Omega to have a bad match in NJPW. Just art.

 

Wrestle Dynasty was a ton of fun. It sets up Forbidden Door to be another big title swap opportunity between NJPW and AEW.

Big Match Kenny still clears absolutely everyone. In any generation.

Tana crying made it even better. Proud father moment watching Gabe have a match like that.

 

Thinking about getting a second job so I can go to All In and see Omega/Okada in person now lol

Last nights show is a high recommend from me, at the very least Takeshita/ishii and omega/kidd everyone should watch. Shibata/tanahashi’s “exhibition” also had me emotional as fuck NGL
