Yeah but like rampage is going away soon? No one watches it regardless of how it’s booked so why book it with Toni’s return match?

But it’s more because they wouldn’t book MJF or Kenny Omega or Britt Baker’s return match on Rampage so it makes no sense why they are treating Toni like that

Also if you believe Alvarez (ymmv) people within AEW also think it’s dumb booking so it’s not just IWC discourse

 

i also think it’s a missed opportunity, not even trying to be snarky by asking how you’d do it — you are the most vocal critic of AEW here so I’m always curious how folks would treat their programs if given the chance

I’m looking forward to seeing how her character is gonna be developing thru this

 

I love AEW and its wrestling and employs some of my favorite wrestlers currently like Toni Storm - I want her treated like the star she is which they did on Wednesday but then they book her return match on a show that no one watches

I want AEW to hit a million viewers a week on Wednesday but they aren’t and I think a lot of it is self inflicted along with WWE being better booked slash VKM free

 

I have zero doubt the Toni-Mariah feud is gonna be awesome - just hate her return being on rampage

Yeah back when they were taking that show seriously and I think it was the first one or close to it - they were still trying to establish rampage as a legit second show versus what it is now

plus punk can draw anywhere anytime lol

 

Yep, on the 2nd rampage they ever had (when it was clear they had created the show in part because he was coming in). He also worked a lot of matches on rampage the first couple of months (Hobbs, Garcia, Sydal were all in the Sept/Oct period)

I mean, this one isnt that complicated. She returned as her old persona. Dynamite opens with a 60s preshot promo talking about how she's refinding herself as the fighter she once was. Music hits, she goes and works a 5min squash-ish match over Deonna Purazzo where a couple little pieces of Timeless Toni flair come out, she gets knocked down for them, and she refocuses for a strong finish. Same thing the week after. #1 contenders match at Worlds End, have Mariah v Toni main event Fight for the Fallen.

Mariah survives that either via interference (with her own protege) or some cheating. Toni takes the belt at Grand Slam. Taken the belt off Mercedes at either Worlds End or Wrestle Dynasty, do a multi-women's match at Revolution and a 1-on-1 feud heading into DoN.

I'd also be figuring out how I end with Willow as champ by about All In Texas.

 

Didn’t Jamie Hayter wrestle on Rampage her first match back? Against Harley? Or was that on Dynamite. Regardless, yeah Toni is a star and feels more Dynamite-y to me but as someone said it’s crowded with the C2 right now and it’s not like it’s gonna be a Toni vs Stat level matchup, Toni will win against whoever like we know she will and be back wrestling on Dynamite soon so yeah, put some talent on Rampage to get some eyes there or whatever. I get the criticism but it’s far from an unforgivable sin

My theory is that Toni Storm is back and she doesn't remember anything that happened the past year or so and she just comes to wrestle on Rampage like a regular day in the office
