It sucks, but there's something very weird about people who cheerlead the fuck out of WWE criticizing it so much. Feels very performative lol

  2. I mean we criticize WWE every time they did/do it as well

pro wrestling is pro wrestling at the end of the day and full of carny fucks who only care about $. we all like it because its fun, but behind the curtain most folks are the same. AEW is still the alternative

Bet Tony uses him once and he gets injured during the injury time on his contract.

in the next year the wwe is gonna snag

lucha bros, miro, malakai black, ricky starks, daniel garcia, MCMG

    aew is gonna snag

    bobby lashley, shelton benjamin

and that's when the whole 'challenger product' thing is going to really start to crumble and it makes me sad

  12. WWE showcasing Penta and selling $150000000000 worth of masks is also not the worst thing in the world.

  14. I think the Lucha Bros can be a cash cow but Penta definitely catches the eye a bit more than Fenix. Dude can look scary as fuck.

I do think Fenix is the better wrestler though.

I get they he stopped doing interviews, but even without his interviews I feel like covering Benoit and the recent allegations in like 45 minutes didn’t do those stories justice. I feel like they could have easily added an episode or two to cover the last 20 years in greater detail instead of just saying “bad man” at the end. The end felt incredibly rushed.

  20. Isn’t this ultimately AEW’s or even those wrestler’s fault? Regardless AEW still has more than enough talent to overcome it - they still employ the three best wrestlers in the world

Always do the right thing. Supporter

I finished the Vince series last night with my girlfriend, who knew almost nothing of the backstory of WWE/Vince, and we both thought it was well done. I’ll echo sentiments that it isn’t for wrestling fans, it’s for a wide audience, and does an effective job of laying out Vince/wrestling’s outsized impact as a force of American culture while simultaneously being a “niche” and never being taken seriously. The doc shows how the industry was able to get away with exploitative and vile practices and scandals because it was its own world, showing not just the scandals but also the problematic (to say the least) elements of the product itself and letting Vince (and others) expose themselves trying to justify/explain away the very serious issues inherent to the product they sold. It could have delved deeper on some things and been ten hours, but Vince came off as legitimately delusional and evil and given the whole documentary was almost finished as the Janel Grant story was breaking (which then lost the filmmakers access to Vince/anyone in WWE), I thought it did a solid job of portraying the history of Vince and WWE and the current ways that will resonate outside of wrestling fans who know much of what was portrayed already.

Yeah, I mean if they wanted to be completely transparent they should talk about how the company welcomed Hogan back after he was recorded saying some horribly racist shit and they acted like nothing ever happened.
