I mean the whole thing has been about him retiring from full-time. I just can't see him not working part-time in the future. Definitely can see him taking off at least six months, but he's a wrestler through and through.

his promo last night was pretty great and if we're to believe anything he's saying (lol) i really do think the writing is on the wall for him to win and is one of the few ppl in aew's current climate that I think can beat swerve without making swerve look like an absolute geek. but i'm always wrong af so i'm sure this means swerve wins lololol

i didn't watch the promo yet but i'm leaning towards him winning too. This is his last full time year, surely he's not just going to stop in august arbitrarily

I don't care that I am a 40 year old grown ass man, if Danielson loses I will cry. Hard.

I hope he wins, loses the title a few months later and then goes to have a few months of whatever dream matches he has left (Looking at you, Nigel!). If he says that he will still be wrestling here and there then I'm not sure he will get the Sting treatment with a formal retirement match, but if he does get an official retirement match, I have no idea who it's going to be against.

so that's how you solidify swerve/danielson in the main event of all in: title vs career.
up to this point there's 2 matches that have better told stories/better built feuds: storm/may & mjf/ospreay.
but there's no way you could follow up a title vs career match. that ends the show.
which is too bad, cause either of the other two options are just as worthy of closing out a show of that magnitude.
