At least we know who is headlining the WWE HOF in 2026. Unless of course they don't want to wait for his retirement tour to be over and do it next year before his last Mania.

I am not sure what order they will do it in, but I am sure the Cena retirement tour is going bring back the classics of Cena/Orton, Cena/Punk, Cena/Rock, and I know at some point he is going to put Cody over.

Us getting one last Cena/Orton program is the biggest no brainer. If you look at his career Orton was basically Cena's archnemesis. Honestly Orton being his last match come December 2025 wouldn't surprise me.

You would think they wouldn’t force Solo on people the way they are. You’d think they would have learned that with Roman.

    Die rad.

We all knew it was coming, but still saddens me to see Cena hanging it up next year. He really grew on me the last decade or so and love most of his Hollywood stuff and interviews. Seems like a genuine kind guy.
Curious how they finish off his career. Who will his final opponent be? Orton? KO?

He’s apparently going to be wrestling the majority of 2025

  8. They aren’t forcing Solo to be the top guy in the company tho

And solo is a 100% heel. They forced Roman as the top baby face for about 7 years.

The wwe needs some true heels at the moment so this works I just think the bloodline and Cody shouldn't cross paths anymore. Not necessary. Cody feels like an ancillary player in the bloodline storyline and we don't need that

  12. still can't get over how good the Punk stuff was last night - kept the feud going for Drew and reignited the feud with Seth because now that Damien won Seth can't contend for that title until Priest drops it

    great story telling

I think Solo would be an easier pill to swallow if he didn’t lose for six months straight prior to this push. Also Jacob Fatu has 5000x the charisma and is much better in the ring which makes Solo look bad in comparison.

Solo didn’t lose that much prior to this. His worst loss was to Orton but almost all the others were via DQ or tagging with Jimmy. They’ve protected him well. Being the main player in long matches with convoluted finishes is his problem because he’s still green & is out of it past the 10 minute mark.

I know it wasn’t the greatest retirement announcement last night but god damn it made feel certain way. Like I’m truly gonna miss Cena over the years I think I’ve learned to appreciate him more

Solo’s losses were pretty much on house shows, which aren’t canon. The problem is that after he beat Cena, I don’t feel like they capitalized on him enough for him to be as convincing of a threat as they’re making him out to be now.

Roman’s return will hopefully make this all more interesting. I’m over seeing just Randy, Cody and KO involved in this.

Going against the grain of most of the thread but I feel like most people are looking back at Cena’s career with a bit of revisionist history.

it wasn’t (always) his fault, but he was definitely overused and smothering for almost an entire decade. Most of that was due to a weak roster (not his fault) but Vince and whoever else had a hand in it did not help. Between Super Cena, going-through-the-motion matches and feuds, acting like a heel but being treated as the face 100% of the time (Zach Ryder anyone lol), and almost always being the champion, etc. it’s understandable why people got sick of him and that doesn’t need to change years later as he winds down his career. None of what happened looks any better now than it did at the time imo. Swap Cena out for anyone and the same thing happens - it’s just overkill of someone being constantly in your face for too long.

Would be interesting to see an alternate timeline where WWE doesn’t go so heavy into the PG era and was actually able to make and sustain other stars. Cena would and could have still been the face of the company but for me the weak roster is what made most of those years so unbearable.
