Wish Clash at the Castle wasn’t during UFC/the first week of College football. I’ll have to avoid spoilers and watch on Sunday. I’m cautiously optimistic about WWE again. I’d go to RAW in two weeks, but they still have not removed the filler to my liking and three hours is a long time to sit through a lot of backstage/video backage stuff.

Especially since we can literally compare it to a somewhat fledgling brand (even if it has the benefit of being WWE-adjacent). NXT, aside from its debut couple of weeks, never touched what Dynamite is regularly doing, routinely did like half the demo, and thats from a brand that had what, 5 years of PPVs and main-roster-bound WWE talent passing through. Hell, AEW is outperforming those numbers with half of NXT's roster.

I'll always be curious about what LU would have done on a non-shitty channel. Like, even on a SyFy, gotta believe it could have pulled NXT 2.0 level numbers. It had such amazing viral content and such rich characters...felt like it was actually chance to pull in a new demo to the sport.

I got nervous because Im with my family Fri/Sat night and Sunday during the day, and thought the PPV was Saturday...was gonna be pissed...but then I remembered its labor day weekend and it runs on Sunday

tony isn't the one to blame, it's WWE.

it's easy to scoff about their deal with peacock now, but keep in mind that they were an independent streaming service in 2013. they changed the game when they basically charged 9.99/mo for access to their live ppvs. inturn, conditioning the wrestling fan that 40-50$ppv/60$ in HD is now too expensive. regardless of the quality or quantity of the competition's events.

i started warming up to the idea of 25$ to watch aew in a movie theater. i think that's my breaking point right now. ppv's need to be more affordable. right now, you want more eyeballs on your product and you aren't helping that with a 60$ price tag.
