Honestly, I think to build it up even more for the casual fans who may not be as familiar with Roman/the family connection. One thing to promote the Rock coming back to fight his cousin, which kind of means nothing to the casual or lapsed viewer. The Rock coming back to fight for the championship (or at the very least, against the champion if they want to keep it a non-title match), and oh yeah fun little twist his cousin is said champion, is far more intriguing to someone not in the know.

 

But when you're the People's Champ, isn't every match a title match anyway? ...I'll see myself out.

Rock and Roman definitely does not need the belt.

You take away the belt(s)from them and you can have a stronger card. Idk why you would do that for a show that is 2 nights.

I hope Drew beats Roman at Clash, he honestly deserves it and a Drew/KO feud over the title would honestly be great.

 

Id be ok with them giving some people couple month runs with the belt. The titles have been so wrapped up the last few years between Brock/Roman

 

Drew is without a doubt going to get a belt at the UK show. I'd bet the house on it.

They're definitely separating the titles if the Rock match is gonna be for the belt...no world The Rock is doing the Rumble as well. That's one of those "show up when the XFL is starting up, kick start the feud, appear 2-3 times on TV, main event Night 2" kind of things.

I agree it doesnt need a belt, but, I'd also put like 80-90% odds he does it. He's got a bunch of movies announced, but absolutely nothing that has been cast/scripted to the level that its gonna start filming by January. The XFL restarts February 18, so perfect for cross-promoting its history (though, obviously maybe not so much now that the Vince stuff is out).

Also, there's just no other time that makes sense otherwise if he's gonna do it. Against Roman, at his peak, in LA...makes perfect sense compared to Philly.

 

He got injured the last few times he wrestled and it's been a MINUTE since his last one. He will be involved, I will be shocked if he works a full match. We are talking a DECADE since he last wrestled a full match.

 

It would be funny promoting XFL if that’s the reason for coming back. It’s not like they’re pitching WWE to XFL fans but vice versa. Then factor in how Vince used to own it and it’s just funny that The Rock and HHH are in charge of things Vince created

 

I’m pretty confident they’ll do it. It won’t be anything spectacular but I think Roman is very capable of getting Rock through a solid 10 minutes or so in the ring.

It certainly wouldn’t even get close to the amount of time he went with Cena

 

This is a really good point but idk, I can't imagine him promoting it beyond it being mentioned in promos once or twice for a pop/heat.

Especially if it's not successful.
