Let's get these people moving faster!

Frankly, I don't think with a roster as deep as theirs he's worth enough to brush this under the rug.

I know I sound brash, and I have a ton of reason for it, they should fire him and not let him come back, for his best interest. He's been doing this back and forth shit for at least 15 years. A month rehab with a therapist afterwards (probably their opinion of drug rehab and maintaining sobriety) ain't enough.

Him coming back means sacrificing his already beat the fuck up body even more, which creates a ton more pain, which creates the need for substances he has abused for a long time, then the cycle just continues on and on until something awful happens, unless you cut him off.

I think they should have canned him also. I get pulling the whole "suspended without pay and go to rehab hope he goes to rehab" thing, but looking at his history shows that obviously hasn't worked and doesn't lead me to believe it will this time.

I think it should also be noted that he's "open to rehab" and not "going to rehab", implying that he could still get fired if he refuses to go to rehab

not enough people are talking about this. that's very specific wording that's troubling,

  7. well we should wait and see how long the therapy and rehab is and how he maintains his sobriety. I mean firing him probably just leads to him doing something that kills himself or someone else - at least this way they can try to help his disease. I know he's had infinity plus one chances so I wouldn't have been upset if he was fired and I would have understood that too. if anything this should be his last chance

"I'm told that Jeff Hardy had maintained a physical driver's license and had been renting cars throughout his time in WWE and AEW without issue despite the license being suspended."

    Jesus fucking Christ.

  11. might just be the legal way to phrase it - you can't really just mandate someone go to rehab - I dunno

I think the mixture of consequences and compassion are the right move here - there is no one right way to deal or help with this disease

Honestly, it's kind of fucked up that his employer is the one who is expected to make the primary decision on how to handle this. I think all around it's a pretty strong stance to take by AEW to do what they did, which is essentially try to help someone out who needs help. But I also get the understanding that this dude has publicly blown so many second, third, fourth chances. Given all that, though, dude needs to be locked up for the safety of others at this point. The justice system should be who is giving Jeff these sort of ultimatums, if you want to call them that. (I know this is opening up a whole other nuanced convo about our fucked up legal system here, and I'm not expressing any of this in a very eloquent manner, but I think it just sort of sucks that so much of the pressure over the years has been on Jeff's employers to get him the help he clearly needs.)

You're definitely not wrong about this but this is the conundrum of every wife/husband/parent/sibling that has a loved one in addiction. To continue giving them another chance is enabling them to continue the same life style (which they usually do), to cut them off runs the risk of something terrible occurring. Out of those two options though, the latter is usually the one that results in more success.

I can say for myself, I only began to have a shot at changing my life in my addiction when my poor mother had to tell me she couldn't help me anymore and then stopped answering my calls. She had every reason to do that and I can't imagine how hard it was but that made reality sink in for me and motivated me finally to do what I had to in order for change to make a long story short.

I don't mean to personalize this a ton but it's just the worst part of recovery, needing to hit a bottom and that bottom only occurs when there are major consequences and nothing to soften the blow. Firing Jeff and him having no options really is his best shot at realizing he really needs to do some heavy changing and people are sick of his shit.

I try not to rattle off too much about this type of stuff because I don't want to come off like a know it all, but dealing with it is my life day in and day out, between my personal experience and my job.

Shocked they didn't decide to just kill two birds with one stone by making it a triple threat match with Athena so Britt could double-pin two hot new signings at once

While true, its the place of a profession that causes its employees physical pain and maintains a schedule that encourages excess to have their future well being at stake. Much like, say, the NFL maintains health policies, etc for older players due to head trauma.

But I'd be stunned if that doesnt happen this time around. 3rd DUI in <5 years, driving all over the country without the interlock, on a suspended license, and getting popped at .3 is the kind of stuff that even a great lawyer cant prevent jail time for.

His best case scenario is the Tammy Sytch "go to rehab for 90 days and it gets counted as jail time" situation, and even then look where she ended up 4 years later
