There were no women title matches last night so that’s why haha

 

Technically Asuka didnt cash in the same night; though she is also technically the fastest cash-in winner ever since grabbing the briefcase meant winning the belt.

But yeah, Carmella is the only woman to even win the briefcase and actually hold it through a TV taping. And that seems to largely be because they had NO idea what to do with her for most of her time

 

Rousey leaving makes sense to why the Shayna turn seemed a little out of nowhere. I thought it still worked and the surprise element was kinda neat.

 

The briefcase is also more of an albatross than a push if a midcarder who is over gets it. With Priest there’s a path forward because he’s in the upper card now with a title you can work in. Tougher to do that with LA Knight unless you just want it as a reason for him to cut promos & keep losing. I hope they have something better planned with him.

There’s been some speculation from MMA reporters that Ronda may have been asked by the UFC to come back and fight for the title. The previous holder of the belt (that beat the ever living shit out of her) just retired and vacated the belt.

 

I’d love to see Rhonda go back to the UFC and get her face kicked in by Holly Holm again, but I don’t think she has the star power anymore so that fight makes zero sense lol

 

I’m assuming Dana White sees Peña as someone that Ronda could potentially beat. But I really don’t think Ronda carry’s any star power in MMA anymore

 

How fucking embarrassing to wait until the person that kicked your ass so bad you quit retires to go back to your old company lol

 

I really don’t see Ronda beating anyone at the UFC level… except maybe CM Punk

Watched the civil war match last night.

very funny - the low blow for the kick out. If the camera cuts weren’t so immediate I’d almost believe that was accidental since he wasn’t facing the same direction with the arm he kicked out with lol

one of the truly underrated parts of the bloodline story has been Roman’s interactions with Solo and how Solo has been slowly but surely absolutely disgust d by Roman. Civil War prime example of course is after the USO’s kick out, Roman has his head in his hands like a kid mad and crying and Solo looks at him like “wtf is this?” and has to snap him back into it - almost like he’s the oldest sibling in the family. Not the first time Solo has had that look on his face and it’s always been great.

 

Separate match thoughts - always been a fan of Liv and goddamn they had her not tap out to BOTH Ronda’s and Bazler’s submission holds simultaneously while that used to kill everyone in half a second lol. Love it for Liv but definitely feel like it got missed with the Bazler turn (and know Liv and maybe others have started to not tap out or lose to submissions right away for awhile now but still pretty wild).

Turns out WWE beat AEW to the blind tag team tourney by years...they've just been calling it the womens tag division

 

Its even weirded because they jettison prior teams. Like, Raquel/Liv makes no sense, especially when Raquel/Dakota were an NXT team. Carmella and Zelina made sense....but like Nattie/Tamina and Nia/Shayna were some pure nonsense pairings...and none more so than Asuka/Charlotte
