I reckon this may happen. Give Cody a short reign and then have him chase White to get the title back.

 

yeah, Dragon Lee in NXT makes sense, but White would go straight to the main roster

 

I don’t think Jays first feud should be with Cody tbh. Cody needs to have a decently long reign (not three fucking years tho). Jay could hold the US/IC belt and kill it.


I think Gunther may be Cody’s first feud after WM tbh.

 

Meh put off Cody vs Gunther for a bit because he should be the one to take the belt off of Cody

 

Timesplitters and Ultimo was not a trio that I knew I needed.

 

Agreed, I was more thinking that Jay White gets that AJ-style push right out of the gate. Dont waste him in the mid-card, have him debut, get a few big wins over like Drew or Sheamus, then maybe rock a 2-PPV feud with Cody at MITB and Summerslam. And Gunther can take the belt from Cody at like, Survivor Series.

Whereas if Jay comes into AEW, that belt seems locked up for the next year between MJF and whatever face beats him...and the TNT title is even weaker than getting the IC/US title

 

Oh for sure, AJ Styles is the template for making an NJPW top guy a big deal.

Catching up on the SD stuff, I love that WWE is finally having some fun again with "what gets recorded backstage sometimes is and isnt kayfabe". Is it Heyman sneaking around that means Jimmy/Jey get caught acknowledging Sami? Or does Roman just have his TV tuned to Fox at 8pm ET?

They've also got Sami out there with the no makeup look...he looks pretty manic in that backstage moment with Jey.
