Sami is so fucking over that WWE creative definitely needs to pivot their Mania plans

 

Do I now just stay up for three more hours to watch the other greatest heel alive, shitface Novak Djokovic, make Tsitsipas look like a junior tennis player in the AO final?

 

Like that beat down made me feel so uncomfortable

 

honestly I feel like if they stick the landing over the next couple of months, and its in the equation for the best ever

Jey/Roman stuff goes back a couple of years at this point but Jey clearly still isn't totally over what happened there. And KO/Sami stuff goes back decades. And like, Sami's whole heel arc over the last like 6 years he's never been the "hurt people for the sake of hurting people" kind of heel. He's always been the chip on his shoulder, wants the respect he deserves kind of heel. And so having his snapping point be watching people he thought he respected hurting someone simply for the sake of hurting them and realizing that crossed his moral line... just long term story telling perfection

 

I dont know how they get there, but, some version of Cody telling Roman he wants THAT belt, and doesnt care about the Universal title, is maybe a spot where they can still get to it.

Because its a far more fascinating story if Jey breaks away from the Bloodline than if KO/Sami face The Usos

 

I just can’t be Cody dethroning Roman after what we saw tonight and the crowd reaction

this is on the same level as Bryan and Kofi

almost have to make it a triple threat with Sami

 

Bloodline vs Sami/KO/Jey in the chamber would be good


I’m truly sad this isn’t going to end with Sami winning the title at mania.

 

Yeah Roman is too ingrained with Sami and KO that the payoff can’t just be those two beating the Usos

Actually, you use dickhead, nuclear heat Roman. He tells Cody he can only challenge for the belt his daddy never won. Adam Pearce says both belts must be defended at WM, and the #1 contender for the other belt comes from Elimination Chamber. And you put Sami and Solo in that and let Sami survive it.

 

Even if Jey turns, they could use the free bird rule again to have Solo/Jimmy defend the belts. But having the payoff be a tag title win feels bad

 

Agreed. I feel like the only things that could mess this up is Vince weaseling his way back into Creative and somehow Cody’s push getting in the way. With the heat we saw tonight I really feel like this storyline needs to main event at least one night of WM.

 

they could easily have roman defend both nights with Sami one, and Cody the other.

 

Sami doesn’t even need to have a long reign. He could lose it a month later but this somehow needs to end with him winning a belt from Roman.

 

Haven’t been this interested in WWE in forever. Still not enough to watch the weekly TV, but definitely enough to watch clips on YouTube and check out the big shows.

like Sami Zayn is a huge part of the reason I got into wrestling. It was 2016 and I had friends who were into it but outside of seeing a few matches hadn't seen much. But I was bored one night and put on the 2016 royal rumble on an illegal stream and was hooked. I recall Sami showing up then and thinking he was cool, but then continued watching and by the time that WM ladder match rolled around I was already totally hooked up him. Like he was this punk rocker with a good heart and amazing talent what was not to love.

Watching the main roster squander his face run sucked. The heel turn hurt but like, at least he got to do interesting stuff and so I'd still root for him even as a heel. But also his out of the ring actions with SAMS and just being an all around standup guy continue to further my love for him.

and now... even in the seven years of following this company its burned me enough times that I don't know why the hell I'm getting my hopes up again. But getting to see Sami finally get to be that guy on the big stage I fell in love with seven years ago... definitely making me a bit emotional tonight

 

I fell asleep before leaving to watch the PPV and just woke up

 

I think Meltzer brought this up yesterday and is definitely something to consider

they go to Saudi like..right after mania. I feel like that being a thing makes it really hard to give Sami a belt unless he’s dropping it immediately.
