I hope he doesnt do that comically "rising from the grave" thing he did in wwe during his entrance..

Black and Andrade are two guys I just never got into. Not because they're not good, but bc since i started watching wrasslin again in 2016, I never watched nxt. So i only knew them from their main roster runs, which i both found lackluster. But everyone keeps saying they are so good, so i am rly excited to see them in AEW, the only wrestling i watch these days.

 

Black’s entrance in NXT was brilliant. It never looked right in the main roster though.


You should seek out NXT Takeover: New Orleans and watch Aleister Black vs Andrade. It was a great match. Actually, you should watch the entire show. 5 fantastic matches.

 

Black should’ve only used the rising from the grave entrance for big matches, like Finn and his demon form or whatever.

but yeah, his music in AEW has a lot to live up to.

If you're a lapsed fan and you turned on a random episode of AEW Dynamite, and you've got JR out there sounding more confused and out of the loop than you yourself, why would you ever want to stick around and find out more about said product. Same thing if you're a wrestling fan who hasn't fully committed to checking out AEW. A big name in the wrestling scene shows up in AEW, it's supposed to be a big deal, and that was the commentary going on during it. Not exactly gonna win over new fans.

Same thing goes for WWE, btw. If you were a lapsed fan and tuned in for the mess of that eight-woman tag match on Raw, seeing Nikki's new costume, hearing the commentators talk about someone named Doudrop, trying to figure out what exactly is gong on with the Alexa Bliss character... It was like they were actively trying to dissuade people from tuning in with that shit.

 

God, Andrade's entrance for the takeover Philly match was so good

 

I wouldn’t even put it past WWE to rehire him lol

Back when NXT was appointment viewing

 

Kinda feel bad for JR tbh. Was constantly treated like shit by WWE. Lost his wife. Seems like he’s losing some cognitive abilities. Definitely a detriment to the product like you all are saying. But still feel kinda bad.

I haven’t watched all of Dynamite yet but I feel like they are severely lacking in their presentation of Andrade. Maybe that’s just me being a big fan from what he did for WWE. I just already want him to be a bigger deal

 

Hmmm I wonder who the mystery opponent could possibly be.

 

I feel like they’re lacking in “presentation” in general. They’ll get there but sometimes you can just see the production value differences between a show that’s been on the air for 30 years and the one that’s been on for 2.

 

The presentation of Black for the Dream match, the Andrade match, and then this were borderline perfect. Really simple stories, pretty solid in-ring work, and really only overshadowed by the reality that Gargano/Ciampa was the story going over top of it

 

The way Black debuted was good. Didn’t need music. Made an impact.

Andrade just comes out in a confusing segment. Came down the ramp so he should have had music. And I don’t know that I’d pair him with Vickie

 

Andrade's entrance theme sucks compared to his wwe theme too to be fair.

 

I'd be willing to bet Black could get incendiary to do another theme for him. He elevated them a ton.

 

His WWE theme fucking slapped

 

Considering tommy likes that kind of music already, I’m sure he’s suggested a bunch of songs to Tony already

I'd be fucking there for that, catch me stage diving from my seat at Dynamite.

 

Kinda felt like he was going through the motions in his match too. His attire isn’t doing him any favors either.

But yeah that was a top 5 theme for me
