it does feel like The Elite want so badly to show they're not gonna book themselves like Outsiders/Hogan in WCW that they've gone too far in the opposite direction

 

I think everyone agrees with this, and while it’s not good, the amount of ego they have to put aside to do this is still very respectable.

 

I think that’s just who they are as people. Cody hasn’t been afraid to put himself in meaningful stories, just not as part of the title picture. I think Kenny is always more focused on story than anything else, which is why I’m more than willing to give them all the time in the world to build whatever they’re going to with him. And I genuinely think that at this point the Bucks just care more about the state of tag team wrestling in general than their standing in it.

 

yeah i definitely agree. i just want at least one solid reign for both the Bucks as well as Kenny at some point, im sure it'll happen in some capacity and booked in a way that makes whoever dethrones them

 

That’s a fair take, but they’ve also all been in high profile stories. Cody/Jericho, Cody/MJF, Kenny and Hangman v The Bucks. They’re still lynchpins of the show and booking themselves as that despite the Bucks not winning the tag titles and Kenny not winning the world title.

I guess I just don’t see the clamour to have them win the gold this early. They will eventually win them but I think it would be a cop out doing it so soon rather than using their status as the top guys to show us they can write compelling stories and get others over, like they have been doing.

Yeah, it really feels like they had big plans for All Out, and leading into All Out, for that storyline between Kenny/Hangman/The Bucks

 

Yeah I’d prefer good stories leading to them with the belts rather than a one and done match just so they get them.
