nothing is gonna change in the short term - it'll be interesting to see what happens when the next TV contract needs to be signed.

But now the NXT people seem to mostly be staying put. If anything, people are going back to NXT. So unless there’s someone like Keith Lee, I don’t see them “moving up”. Can’t picture Undisputed Era on Raw/SD.

and I was listening to Gargano on the wwe podcast today and he was talking about how he can’t believe he has a relationship with Shawn Michaels. That’s why these people keep signing there. It’s literally their dream.

 

anyways is this gonna be a Cena/Goldberg match so that Cena has the universal title while promoting Fast 9? haha

this is a good point - if they would move KO Cesaro Sami and Shin back to NXT I would watch it more often but then they would run into those same issues on Raw/SD in where there isn't enough time for everyone.

True but look at someone like Ciampa who has said he’s not gonna leave NXT. They’ll move the Lee’s, Priests, Dains, Riddles but im sure a certain amount stay. Just like AJ stayed on Smackdown for a few years. Or Rollins is Raw.

They’ll move Ciampa and Gargano when they want to. The “NXT for life” stuff is just marketing talk while the live show is in its infancy.

I agree with the first part but raw and smackdown are apples and oranges compared to moving up from nxt

 

See, I actually want people to move on and NXT to keep rebuilding. TUE are getting played out on NXT, I want them to move up so we can get new stories. I want Keith Lee to be the center piece for 6 months and feud with Dream. Give me Dijakovic battling all their new hosses for the NA title. They're rebuilding the entire tag division right now off that Riddle/Dunne victory. And less than a year ago, the womens division was BAD, now its basically a centerpiece.

NXT actually has something no other brand has had, which is the ability to avoid running stories into the ground. When a major story ends, someone moves out of NXT. It can constantly refresh. AEW's been able to avoid some of that by running fewer PPVs, and hopefully they can keep that up.

 

I agree with this too though. Yesterday when I was trying to figure out why NXT hasn’t been as good I was thinking about how it was so nice that they could tell new stories so often. Now that it’s live it seems like they book week to week instead of having it planned out in advance like they used to

 

It has some more fluctuation, sure, but its still got long-term goals. Nox/Kai for example has built long-term logically. Rhea/Shayna was built while live.

I think they are going back to the well currently because a bunch of people get called up after WM...so this is on period where revisiting some feuds fills the gap.
