this is lowkey what pisses me off the most lol. Goldberg hasn't changed a bit.

 

I didn’t watch but honestly what makes this so bad is the Rollins shit. If he kicked out of 2-3 curb stomps, ok I can believe Goldberg could win with 5 spears and a jackhammer. But he took like 45 curb stomps multiple times and basically proved he could not be pinned. The Bryan stuff was more believable. But that Rollins feud was too much and basically doomed Bray from the start

and its shit like this that makes me just kinda shrug when ya'll tell me NxT aint bad. in a nutshell, it's not. in fact, im sure it's great. But it's all part of the same company of shit. Why should i care about Riddle or Velveteen if Goldbergs gonna squash them?

In the end, to me, the purpose of being a fan is to have a fan favorite and trying to see them grow...and maybe one day become "champ" or a "main eventer". So, idk. I just dont see the purpose of NxT at this point

 

on the bright side this booking definitely helps AEW a ton this weekend. like that's how dumb VKM is - he just gave fans a reason to drop 60 bucks on Revolution this weekend.

 

I can get hoping that maybe this time thing'll be difference. WWE doesn't *always* get it wrong. But they get it wrong so often that it can't really come as a surprise or a disappointment when they do so if you watched thinking they weren't gonna get it wrong... you definitely charlie brown'd yourself

 

yup that's kind of why I stopped caring so much about NXT because we are know none of those guys will ever be a star on the main roster

 

our only hope is waiting for VKM to die

 

I highly doubt the people who watched SSD are the type that care that much about AEW. They’re clearly aimed at two very different type of wrestling fan.

 

WWE is making all the same mistakes WCW made

 

this isn't true. you see the replies to the WWE tweets? If people are that upset they could turn to AEW. It's not that hard of concept to follow. Same shit happened to WCW.

 

And the thing is, guys like Ricochet are *fortunate* to even get into a position where Brock can squash him. A lot of the other former NXT stars don't even make it that far.

NXT gets you to care about people and then their reward for getting you to care about them is they get shipped off to this giant void of suck.

 

I feel like a lot of those people are already AEW fans...

 

the Saudis allowed a Jewish man to fight basically a literal Christian demon in the main event but let's make sure the women have to wrestle in night shirts over wetsuits

 

i will say that based on how raw and SD ratings have been lately, there's definitely some sad truth that the people who are loving AEW maybe weren't the ones watching RAW and SD to begin with.

Maybe it's more casual than we thought

 

The thing with that is WWE can afford to make mistakes. As much as AEW being around is fun, they’re a good 3/4 years away from making any big differences.

 

Thats the thing...I can just watch that part of it. I dont have to watch them rise to the main roster in the same way I'll never see an AEW wrestler move up to another brand. I can watch all the character development, and the Takeovers that consistently deliver, and its the exact same time required as AEW.

WWE's consistent problem is fewer and fewer people watch RAW + SD because there's no reason to. And this made that really clear...but, dont see how it has any impact on NXT

 

Gotta say I agree. Black and Ricochet getting called up and doing nothing soured me a bit on NXT. Might be a little bit better now that it’s a “brand”.

 

probably but I mean all my friends who were really into WWE are only into AEW and other Indies now. I mean we are definitely smarks but I'm having a Revolution party this weekend and inviting over some of my friends who are WWE casuals. that's all it takes.

 

the WWE has been doing this type of booking for the last 5 or so years. In their eyes this isn't a mistake. This is how they want to run their promotion. It's short term thinking and it'll bite them in the ass so when AEW is built up in 3-4 years it's gonna destroy WWE cuz WWE won't have any stars to rely on.
