I think that’s an ok way to handle that situation. Not terrible. But yeah maybe find out before you announce the match to make sure your competitors can be there. That being said, good on all involved for being adults about it.

Besides, what does it matter when she gets her shot? The match is going to end in a beat down by the nightmare collective anyway...

 

It's weird because in kayfabe, it's punishing Riho and giving a title shot to two people who Kris beat, and another the day she comes back from suspension. They just should have done a #1 contender 3-way.

 

And then when she retains its unfair to Riho because she had to go through the grueling match the week prior. But what can you do

 

i def dont think AEW look like "idiots" but their alternative plan could've used more time in the oven. Nyla returning from kayfabe suspension after a year with a shitty record only to walk into a title match is poor planning imo. theres a lot that can be done to uphold their core ethos a lot better - the fact that records resetting wasnt decided in time to even mention it on TV is pretty bad
