Catching up on Finn/Cole and Rhea/Shayna from last week; man, NXT is so good week to week. So many good false finishes and sequences.

They basically did a final Ganon battle with Shayna there; Rhea got to defeat her in every form in the way Gargano did at Takeover:New York with Cole.

GCW finally announced a Detroit show for March and that may have been the best present I got yesterday.

I think resetting makes sense, but you really need an end of year blowoff PPV event. Otherwise the matches towards the end of the year matches don't really matter as much as they'll just be reset. But if you make the final month of the year all about building your record up to qualify for some of those big matches...

 

Aren't they making Double or Nothing a yearly thing? Why not just reset after that?

 

Makes more sense to do it on a specific date rather than after a PPV. I agree about doing an end of the year event to really make the records matter. I wonder if doing a tournament at the end of the year with the top of the rankings and marketing it as the 'AEW Playoffs' would work. Could be a good way to set up the title match for their February show or just a special episode of Dynamite. Could even do a wild card type deal for the last seed.
