So they still haven't announced the NxT Men's team yet. As a result I couldn't include that on props, but thankfully they had Rhea reveal the women on the Takeover post-show. But anyway, I had to wait till NxT was over before finalizing this for obvious reasons.

Friendly Reminder: I don't count the Sole Survivor like they do in kayfabe. If 2 people from Team Raw win it, and you pick either of them, you get the points. Conversely, I also count the last eliminated person from the last losing team (technically the sole survivor of the final losing team).

You can make your last eliminated and sole survivor the same person to try and double dip (though I wouldn't recommend it) or somebody else entirely for a better overall chance of getting points.

 

This match should be required viewing for wrestling fans. Highly recommend seeking it out if you haven’t seen it.

 

what a show. idk if another Takeover flew by like that one.

but when Ciampa and Cole were up there on the cage, my heart fucking stopped. i had a very physical reaction. seeing Ciampa struggle to readjust and get his foot out of the cage when he already had Cole's weight on his shoulders... it was almost over the line for me. but it was fucking amazing.

 

womens wargames was motn and it wasnt even close. despite great matches with Io, this felt like Candace's coming out party. they still played up the underdog role but they also let her be what she has been for years, a fucking beast and a badass that happens to be in an underdog frame

 

War Games sounded really good. I don’t think I want to re sign up to the network to watch it though.

 

Meltzer is talking like KO is now going to be on NXT regularly. Which would rule.

I don’t really have the time either. I might try watch it during the week but getting 3 hours or so to watch it is hard. Hell I’ve spent 3 days watching Dynamite from this week

 

man, the women's division in NXT is seriously just unreal, woke up replaying shit from that match in my head lol

 

also Balor is the only guy to go against Riddle and make such an average match out of it in a while, still waiting to see one of these bangers everyone says he has in him. not trying to be passive aggressive about it but the only great Balor match i can think of in the last couple of years was Demon v. AJ

 

Balor v Devlin in the UK takeover was a taste of what he can do.

 

As usual Takeover delivers. Only nitpick I have is that I think the idea of two War Games matches hurt the momentum of the event somewhat. Both of them were great so it’s not like I could pick one to keep off the card, but the two matches in between kind of suffered in my eyes as a result. Rather than looking forward to those matches, they just felt like matches to get through to get to the next War Games match.

 

Also I was really hoping they were going to let the handcuff portion play out a bit longer. Would’ve been fun to see them have a bit more of a battle before the final payoff. The ending was still fantastic though so it’s not a huge complaint by any means.
