Probably get a lot of hate for this but honestly Fyter Fest didn’t do anything for me. Missed the first 3 or 4 matches. But I liked what I saw at DoN better than this.

I’m sure the fact that I don’t have a lot invested in these guys plays into it and hopefully that will change when the weekly show kicks in. I was pretty bored by the Cody match and confused by whatever his character is. Seems heelish but then had the Babyface moment with his brother at DoN. Then he gets attacked here like a baby face would. And it was super awkward when they just lingered on the commentary team and they clearly didn’t have anything to say. I don’t know if it was to sell the injury or because it was an actual injury or what but it stayed with them too long.

I don’t like all the synchronization in the Elite match. Maybe like once or twice is fine but they do it over and over and it kind of takes me out of it. (I feel the same in wwe when they do tower of doom type spots or triple suplexes). I guess I don’t get Kenny Omega because he just comes off as really weird to me. His strikes are good but I hate the way he runs the ropes. And again Pentagon with the gay slur.

The main event was ok. Those type of matches aren’t really for me. I like both guys fine but I don’t need to see them kill themselves for a match with little build up and no reason to pay off.

That being said I’ll keep watching and chalk this up to growing pains. If I can still stick through wwe, I can stick with this.

Fuck unprotected chair shots to the head. Anyone doing that needs their heads checked. In more ways than one.

I didn't love Fyter Fest. Thought the best match of the night was the first match on the Buy In (SCU vs Private Party vs Best Friends)

Loved Cody/Darby and the main was fun. They should be embarrassed by the chairshot to the head. Also, I can't believe they're pushing Tye Dillinger

This might be unpopular but I think wwe not paying their wrestlers healthcare is ten times worse than this chairshot.

AEW isn’t giving their wrestlers insurance either so it’s pretty bad. Although Cody is one of the few that do get health insurance.

Both companies do cover injuries that happen in the ring though.

The unprotected chair shot does nothing for anyone. It doesnt look more brutal than a protected one because the sound is still awful. But it might end someone's career or life if done wrong.

Also, flip that spot around its EXACTLY what WWE is doing. Shawn Spears doesnt have AEW healthcare. He has exactly what WWE offered him (paying for injuries suffered while working).

Doing blatantly unsafe spots to pop some mid-card feud is always going to be the stupidest thing this sport has going. Doubly so if its the head of your f'in company taking the spot.

Even if the chair was “gimmicked”, that’s still concussion territory. Unless it was made out of styrofoam or something

All the AEW execs have it (so bucks, cody, kenny, etc), but thats standard corporate stuff. Ill take Cody at his word that they want everyone to have it...but as a company starting out thats gonna hemorrhage money on TV and a few other things to get traction, healthcare is the least of their concerns.

I do hope they are able to force WWE to change their ways...and WWE as a company has no excuse not to when they are throwing $500k/yr deals to guys who dont even make house shows regularly.
