This is what we need to take into consideration:

This is Roman’s battle with cancer and however he wants to cope with it is how he wants to cope with it - it that means he wants to talk about it live on raw because being a WWE wrestler/performer is what he loves and it’ll help him cope with whatever then that’s what’s gonna happen.

I’m sure if Roman just wanted to tweet about it he would but if this is what he wants to do then that’s what he wants to do

I could see Roman just being a good company guy and Vince saying "Hey our ratings have been awful, what you do you think about saving this for Raw to get a pop in the ratings" and him complying.

We have also been out of the era of surprises for a long time too. Almost everything is announced, even fuckin title changes on TV tapings, they want to announce stuff so people watch, not hope people are watching when stuff gets introduced, y'all know this though. Nothing new

Ratings would still be the same if they just announced that Roman's in remission and will announce it on Raw this monday. Or something like that.


Whatever though, just interesting to think/talk about. My Aunt died of Leukemia in 2000 and it got ugly real quick.

Super happy it at least looks like Roman is in the clear for now. Idk why else they would have him on.

 

There’s plenty of other reasons to vilify Vince and wwe. But we don’t know the situation here. He’s arguing that romans condition has been “kept secret” therefore it’s messed up to advertise it. But if Roman wants to keep his condition private, that is decision to make. Maybe it actually was his choice to do this.

Dave is making it sound like Roman is being forced to come out here and talk. Maybe Vince did ask. Roman can still say no. And if it comes out sometime later that Roman was “forced” to do this then yeah fuck WWE for doing that. But going through Dave’s tweets just gives me the vibe that he’s pissed that he doesn’t seem to have the scoop more than anything

 

I definitely don't think Roman is being forced to do anything, no way would it come to that. I just think he's a dedicated company guy, they mentioned that idea, and he said sure, anything for the good of the company.

 

Let's not forget this company tried to use Roman's cancer to get Ambrose some heat though. That was fucked.

 

All that being said, I still think they find a way to make it less than tasteful

He addressed that and I think he's 100% right here. Shazier's condition was updated constantly after the initial quiet period. WWE has said nothing about Roman, at least that Ive seen, since shortly after he left. Its not a story they've done, and so randomly bringing it about is weird.

I agree with him its a cheap hit for ratings...but, if its what Roman wants, cool. If Roman wants to host WM, cool. If he thinks he's ready to wrestle again, cool. WWE's done far worse things in the last 6 months then use an injured stars return to pop ratings.

Agree completely. Was saying that using Roman for a ratings boost (which will at least feel good for him to be in the ring) is less terrible than the Ambrose line. And obviously way less terrible than their Hulk Hogan/Saudi stuff.
