Can't wait for d.bry to carry AJ for another few months, woohoo

Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

Honest question, when was AJ’s last great match? He’s gotten duds out of some really good wrestlers over this entire reign.

  4. Probably the Cena feud

the one against joe that ended in a pointless dq imo

Yeah if anything could ever be blamed on bad booking it was the Joe feud. Joe should have won the title during that feud. AJ could have gotten it back but with him just winning all the time it was like why keep going for so long

  7. When will the next face to face between Brock and Seth be? The mania go home show?

This is why Brock and all his feuds suck - he’s never there and they can’t properly build it

Didn’t AJ have some decent smackdown matches with Andrade? Otherwise I am drawing a blank in recent memory.

Yeah, there was a short period where Andrade was pushed really hard( similar to the beginning of Ali's push IMO), and his matches with AJ were a large part of it

Just saw the Ember news about needing surgery. Hoping they do something big with her when she comes back. Insane that she wrestled last night and did so much big stuff in the Rumble essentially with one arm. She's a beast and deserves a great push

obviously sucks to be injured but if there's a time for it this is it for ember. They've got nothing for her anyways. :Let her heel, get whatever surgery she needs, and hopefully she has a good enough return where they could make her a contender

you guys gonna be annoyed when Charlotte gets added to this match yet?

ronda gave a terrible promo and a good one back to back. if she ended up spending more time in the business, she'd get it

The second promo with Becky was good, but holy hell was that first promo and the majority of the match with Bayley one of the biggest disasters I've seen on WWE programming (and it wasn't Bayley's fault in the slightest). But all of Ronda's better promos in WWE have been when she's actually portraying a pissed off badass as opposed to this wishy-washy, smiling, respect thing they keep having her do after every match

Again, I understand why she is booked the way she is, why WWE brought her in the way they did and why people like her. I just don't agree with everyone else in that I don't think her in-ring work is that good and that is by far the best thing she offers as a wrestler.
Why am I dismissing her when I call her an average wrestler and say, again, that she has exceeded every expectation I had for her as a performer? Both things, to me, can be true. I thought she would be worse than she is, and that's a credit to her. However, I still think she is just average at best in the ring right now. I don't know why calling her average is dismissive.

And, again, I've said I understand why she's booked this way, why the company brought her in this way and why people like her. It's like y'all aren't even reading my posts. I get it. I understand it. It's perfectly fine for y'all to think she's wonderful in the ring. I don't hold that opinion and I don't know why calling her, in my opinion, an average wrestler is something that is apparently such a heinous thing. Who do y'all think she is better then?

    1) making it a direct comparison to sports is not apples to apples. I know I used "major leagues" in a previous post, but what I mean there is the main roster is the top level of professional wrestling. Sports and wrestling as comparisons aren't apples to apples in my opinion.

    2) For your comparison to hold water, Giannis would've had to have started playing basketball 1 year before he got drafted. He'd then have to be given the keys to the kingdom, be a starter, the face of the league from the get-go. Instead, he played basketball for the first time in 2007. Then by 2009 or 2010 he was playing semi-pro basketball -- or, you know, paying his dues on the indies in Europe -- before he signed a big time European pro deal that included buyouts to go to the NBA. Then he was drafted into the league in 2013, six years after first picking up the sport.

Or, put alternatively, Giannis went to the local indie promotion after learning how to wrestle, made a name for himself on the smaller indies, landed himself in NJPW and signed a contract that allowed him a buyout to go join the WWE.

Also, he averaged 24 minutes as a rookie and only started 23 games.

Ronda got LeBron treatment without the skill of LeBron, is my point.

But, again, I'll state it another time: I get it, I understand that she is a big name draw and that is what separates WWE from actual sports leagues -- name recognition and other things matter more than just skill sometimes. And, again, she is athletic as fuck, has some things she does well and other things that, in my opinion, she doesn't do that well. Just because I'm not praising her as the best woman on the roster doesn't mean that I don't think that can happen. Having this opinion that she is average now doesn't preclude me from seeing that she has an upside, that she has name recognition and draws. It just means that I think that one of the women's champions is an average wrestler who cannot talk me into being hyped for a match nor can she draw me in with emotional storytelling because her acting abilities are sub par at best, in my opinion.

  17. WWE will be colossally stupid if they don't pull the trigger on Lynch at Mania

can't really blame him. Dean has never really had THAT run like Rollins or even Reigns did that truly defined their characters forever. He was just given a dumbass nickname and forever put into subpar feuds. His problem was that he stopped giving a shit and tried to elevate NONE of them. The only time the real Dean actually showed up was when he was in money feuds with HHH, Styles, the Shield, etc.
