Gotta love Michael Cole calling that the "first ever last women standing match in WWE" when it wasn't even the best last women standing match in WWE... (no disrespect to Becky and Charlotte, it was a great match. but Asuka/Nikki had it beat and I hate that they just completely ignored that it even happened so they could have some bullshit 'first')

 

To be fair, that was NXT, which they generally treat as its own thing when it comes to this stuff

NXT is still part of the WWE though. They treat it like its own thing when its convenient to, and then the rest of the time its convenient to remember its part of the WWE so they treat it like that. It just feels annoyingly inconsistent, and as a Nikki Cross and Asuka fan its frustrating to see them not get any credit.

just finished evolution.... i'd say it... was as good as i expected. Two match show. A lot of filler (due to lack of effort of pushing other feuds and matches). Nothing truly awful but only a few things that were truly great.

Red carpet? Start with a evolution song? Hated that stuff. I said it once, ill say it again. Treat the women like the men and the rest will follow. Pretend you're boooking No Mercy, and replace the men with women, that's it. It's a small complaint but i thought the "red carpet" thing was lame...and the song was just again, filler cause they didnt have enough matches.

Lita/Trish vs Mickie/Alicia = B-. Did you hear the crowd when Mickie and Trish faced off? Too bad they didnt just do that. Lita bless her heart tried her best but she was never the most sound wrestler back then, and tack on a decade of not wrestling, and you get 'eh' wrestling. A showcase match for Lita and Trish so that's fine, but the showcase was against a very dubious tag team opponent. Would've rather seen them face off against the Iiconics or something honestly.

Battle Royal = B-. It's a battle royal. Nia wins? eh, i guess?

Mae Young Classc = B+. Solid. I didn't watch the tournament but as a wrestling match, this was very good. Toni Storm is a heel though. She feels like a heel down the road and she will be great.

Six Woman Match = N/A. I fast forward the entire thing.

Kairi vs Bayzler = A-. Great. Loved everything about this. Love both of their characters, loved their intensity in this match, and though the ending was the right call for everyone involved. Maybe a tad slow in the middle, but not bad at all.

Charlotte vs Becky = A. This is most likely going to be one of my top 3 MOTY candidates. The emotion in this match is what wrestling is all about. The way they played with the crowd, well at least with my emotions, was great. I was truly invested, I wanted Becky to win, I wanted Charlotte to lose, and i just loved the way they went about it. And BECKY WON!!?! Wow. Awesome stuff.

Rousey vs. Nikki = C. Didn't care the entire match for some reason. Rousey sold for Nikki a lot...cool? A silly, poorly executed MAIN storyline for this historic ppv.

Everyone stands on the ring and waves goodbye. Roll my eyes. Was expecting something with the four horsewomen or something. Again, for me, treat these things like it's a male angle and the rest will follow.

So as good as expected. Oh and you can tell the WWE put the "B show" treatment. I mean right>? The look of the entrance and ring-side was that of a house show, not a ppv event.

 

idk man, i cant think of any b show that had nita strauss open the show on. the only reason the barricade and stage setup was different is because raw is nowhere near long island tonight. this wasn't the biggest show of the year, but it also wasnt just another ppv.

 

well doesn't that sorta showcase my point that it being treated like a "b show", or at least an event the WWE didn't REALLY give two shits about and was clearly done in order to take some heat off the Saudi shows. Plus the obvious bland build to the event and extremely uninspired card.

I mean,why isn't Raw in the area? or make the arrangements so that the touring stuff can all be there?
